  1. If jackie bradley jr and barnes are two of the prospects sent in the cliff lee deal that means the sox will go all in on retaining Ellsbury at season's end. Not sure if this is gonna happen but it is nice seeing that Ben is in on someone.
  2. 3 or 4 top prospects is too much for that money for Lee and Peavy both... i could see two top 10 prospects and the Phillies picking up a lil of his contract. But reports say he not available as far as Lee goes and if the ChiSox want to keep Peavy let them. I think Lee would put us over the top for a pennant run this year but the prospects that will be given up could be the deal breaker. The money involved with Lee is not an issue id just say Amaro is asking for Boggy is why the deal hasnt went thru yet.
  3. I figure he will get 6/90. And i say Henry pays it. And that it happens before the Hot Stove season. I dont think Ellls holds out for big $ or signing late like a lot of Boras clients.
  4. This is why i hate the CWS and they wont ever go anywhere. I honestly believe he gets moved sometime tonite. They wanted to move him before his start tomorrow so tonite makes sense if he goes anywhere.
  5. Rays just added Jesse Crain to their bullpen. Hes on his way back from the DL, teams in the divison are making moves and the Sox are staying put so far. But i think it will change.
  6. Tigers. Too much pitching. Thats why we need to add a starter to compete with them.
  7. Yes and hopefully teams asking price will go way down in the next 48 hrs and a move gets made without moving the farm.
  8. Pirates and DBacks are front runners for Brian Wilson. I hope the Sox get in on this. Wilson pitched for teams Thursday and i didnt see the Sox mentioned in watching that session. I hope they get in on him. Maybe this is an under the radar move from Ben.
  9. Its funny how Papelbon wants to come back to Boston but Boston dont want him back. Only way i can see Ben or anyone making a move for Pap would be that the Phillies have to eat a lot of his contract and need mid tier prospect back. But i dont see it happening the Phillies will be stuck with him. But his comments over the weekend may have the Phillies want to move him because he said he wants out but who knows.
  10. Yes i agree. Ive seen all these guys play and Middlebrooks is far far better than anyone at 3B. Im not sure why people keep saying that Bogaerts has to move to 3B hes a power SS bat like Tulo so just let the kid play SS.
  11. I hope that Doubrant harnesses that wildness tonite so that the Sox can beat David Price who has been lights out since coming off the DL. Its gonna be a good LHP battle i just hope we come out on top.
  12. The Giants are kicking the tires on Tim Lincecum so if i were gonna pay big money for a pitcher who is younger and has a higher ceiling in my opinion id rather Tim than Cliff as far the long run if the Sox could sign him to an extension. But Cliff would prolly help this club better in the playoff but i think he would just cost to much which in the long run would not be worth it.
  13. I think that is our left side of our infield for the future. I could see Iggy traded at some point. Iggy started off red hot and has cooled off, he is an elite defender but i dont know if his bat would ever come around. But so many people on this site are all about trading Middlebrooks but he has the potential to be a power bat at the corner and with Boggy beside him it could become the best hitting left side in the majors. But since Will is struggling now people are trading him like he done nothing for us last year too many people are what can u do for me now and dont see what we would be losing in the future. He was our top prospect and for good reason until he came up and Boggy hit the scene.
  14. MLBtraderumors.com says that the Red Sox is still "very much in" on Jake Peavy and that the CWS are asking for teams top prospects. If the Sox deal any Top 10 guys for Peavy and pick up all his remaining $ the front off is crazy. Reports says that the CWS asked about Boggy in the deal. Writers believe the price will drop by the deadline but i'd bet that Peavy is still in a Sox uniform but they wont be Red id say he stays in the windy city.
  15. Agreed. I hate that we missed out on Gonzalez. But that might let the Phillies let go of Lee but i doubt it. Brian Wilson makes a lot of sense if not this year but next. I think his personality and his playoff and big game experience is what is most coveted for us and what we've trying to find since Pap was lost during free agency but it could have been a blessing in the long run. I seen a report where it said 4 NL and 1 AL team were in on Wilson. I just wonder if we were the AL team. I havent seen what teams were believed in on him now.
  16. Me too. Seen reports where it says hes close to being major league ready. Could u imagine The Beard running out for the 9th if Uehara gets burnt out at some point. He would add more to the good clubhouse type Ben's added in his reign.
  17. Id rather have Boras who has experience than Jay-Z who has none. I cant stand him or his pot belly wife Beyonce they need to keep their noses out of Politics and Sports Agents. But hopefully the Yanks sign him back and he bombs like every other big contract the Yanks have signed in the past and then once he flops they try to get out from under it like ARods. I think its hilarious how they are trying to not pay him now and he still has soo much money left on his deal, but it is getting annoying hearing about it every time the Yanks are mentioned it almost as annoying as hearing if Brett Favre was gonna retire or come back and play (respect the man but not the social media making every offseason the Brett Favre Saga)
  18. I think Ellsbury comes back next year and signs early even with Boras as his agent. I think if the Red Sox go far in the postseason and if they win it all he will definitely be back. The front office love him and even with Bradley waiting in the wings i still seeing him coming back to Boston. Some where around Peedy's deal is more like what he will get. If he had a 20+ HRs he'd want a blockbuster contract but him prolly only showing power of about 10+/- HRs he wont be recieving a 20M per year contract. An outfield of Bradley Ells and Vic next year would be terrific next year. With Nava, Gomes, and Carp filling in.
  19. I seen on TradeRumors that the Phillies are not interested in dealing Lee at this time. I think the Sox trade for a reliever or maybe sign Wilson (I Hope) but as far as the SP situation i think after Lester's performance today the Sox are gonna wait on Buch to get healthy and hope he comes back and be the pitcher he was at years start. If they trade for a starter i think its gonna be a mid-tier guy i dont think a Ace will be brought in this year. I think the A's will get Peavy cause Colon is gonna get suspended next week when all this PED stuff comes out, also since Lee is off the table apparently a James Shields or a Tim Lincecum wont be traded for or even available. I have to say ive thought about it over and over again and looked at Peavy's Stats and the more i look and see how much hes owed if it cost us a Top 10 prospect and picking up all his contract id say Hell No lets keep what we got as far as SPs. Maybe if Workman can hold us over until Buch gets back and our bats can keep hot for the rest of the year we may be alright. A name that i havent seen mentioned but i read he was available at the start of the year was Rick Parcello and maybe the Sox will trade for a SP type like him. Im not saying he'd be a good option but he'd be a proven major league starter who prolly wouldnt cost us a Top 10 prospect to sacrifice the future. I believe more and more as the days get closer to the deadline that a big deal wont be made but moves like the Sox done at the start of the season will. We dont need flashy moves we need results from whoever we get.
  20. Haha ok
  21. Alcohol... enough said
  22. Funny what a year makes. Last year everyone was so big on middlebrooks and now since the kid has struggled in the sophomore slump everyone wants to trade him away like hes washed up and garbage to us and that he will bring us back a title just by him being traded for a pitcher. Unless it was for an Ace i wouldnt move the kid. He has shown he can hit major league pitching and do it with power. I think we need pitching dont get me wrong and it needs to be a starter, we need bullpen help as well but i think the guys in the minors can come up and fill that role that being said Middlebrooks is young and under team control for years and if given a chance and time he can be what he was last year for us. I think it would bite us in the ass for years to come if he was traded away for a #3 starter. If he was to be traded away and id hate to see it i think he needs to go for an ace not a #3. We are a team of #3s we need a #1.
  23. Who do you think that big steady bat should be a700?
  24. I personally glad we didnt trade for KRod. I hate the way the guy throws the baseball and looks like he falls off the mound every pitch. I hope Benny signs Brian "The Beard" Wilson if the reports are true about him being back to major league form. I think Peavy is a Red Sox because its gonna take some time before Buch is ready and if they can sign Wilson and maybe one of the minor leaguers can contribute in the bullpen the Sox will be set for a championship run. Also i have seen where people say we need a bat. Here is a dream but i said it in the offseason i thought we should have traded for him then. But it depends if Seattle becomes sellers by the deadline, i would like to see them trade for Micheal Morse to play Left Field and add some power to this line up. It wont happen but id like to hope. A bat like that when Morse is healthy would make this already potent line up into a pitchers nightmare.
  25. Didnt they announce before this season that they overhauled the medical staff this year? Well needless to say they are not trusted and i think the biggest mess up is not diagnosis that Hanrahan was gonna have elbow trouble before this season. This whole Buch thing isnt a mess up on their part as far as diagnosing his injury they got it right, just a mess up on not sending him for a 2nd opinion sooner and him not trusting their verdict.
