  1. If that happened Juiced that would definitely be exciting and a blockbuster trade. Great thoughts and if it were to come true the sox could be the best team in baseball for many years to come.
  2. Wow thats bold. Not sure if he would put up those #s at 35the but it would be nice to see. I think Ells will get his 5 - 100 million contract if not more if a 6th year is thrown in there. As far as letting Ells walk and plugging JBJ into CF goes i could see that. But who is gonna play LF. Ok say the Sox just fill that with a platoon from within. I honestly dont see that happening. I think a power hitter will be brought in for LF. So no matter if we let Ells walk a similar contract will be given out. JBJ is an elite prospect but as far as putting up Ells #s i dont see that happening. I think it would be better suited to just slide Ells over to LF while letting him stay at the top of the order and let JBJ hit somewhere near the bottom. And just have both of them in the lineup if we were talking about the best option for the team. If it meant letting ells walk and depending on JBJ i say no, keep ells and trade JBJ for pitching if we could only choose 1. Its gonna be interesting how this year and offseason play out. I hope we keep both but my gut says it wont happen.
  3. I agree with this 100%. JBJ will never be what Ells is. So resign Ells and let someone get burnt on JBJ and bring us back more pitching.
  4. I agree Stanton will probably be moved this offseason. I wouldnt give up the farm for Stanton tho. Id rather have pitching. When Stanton does hit the open market ARod's contract will be the least he gets. Id say he gets a ARod deal if not more.
  5. All im saying is where he is struggling the Sox may have a chance to get him if he makes it down to us on the waiver wire. If he could make it thru to us i think a claim has to be put in on him. And with Theo knowing our farm system a deal could be made. I dont know if the Cubs have anyone in the Minors waiting in the wings to play 1B.
  6. Anthony Rizzo... i know he is struggling as of late with the Cubs and i think he would be the best option for us in the future going forward and other than a reliever maybe one of the only chance the Sox have to make any moves at the waiver deadline. With Theo knowing this system is the only reason his name comes up to me and a deal could potentially be made. But probably wont, but still stranger this have happened.
  7. Is that like being Rick Roll'd?
  8. R u serious?
  9. I just dont see Norris as a front of the rotation guy. And if he were in our system instead of the astros he probably been a relief pitcher instead of a starter. The Orioles got better but i thought they needed a bat more than a pitcher. Oh well i dont think it a significant move Bud is no Chuck so nothing to worry about.
  10. You are correct the starting rotation has done their job these last few weeks. But i still dont think this team goes deep into the playoffs without Buch. The Peavy deal was to get us over to top and let us make the playoffs. Buch coming back and everyone pitching to their best is what will win us a world series baring any injuries.
  11. Agreed. I think he will work out very nicely as a bullpen piece the rest of this year. I like that he has good swing and miss stuff and could definitely be a nice #4 in the future. If the Sox cant trade for another bullpen arm i think Workman could be a nice long relief guy or just throw him in there anywhere really.
  12. id rather have Workman in the rotation than trading for Norris
  13. If Buch hadnt been lights out the first part of the season i would agree with you. But him having an impressive record in the first half and showing he could be an ace of a staff and another injury happen is unfortunate but i dont see the FO doing anything with him in the near future. The signing of Peavy is a bridge to getting Buch back and not rushing him. In my opinion he should already been back but the Red Sox medical staff is not trusted and that feel they need to give the athlete the benefit of the doubt and just try to kiss it to make it better to not ripple the water. That and the price they got Peavy for couldnt be passed up. If he is close to what Dempster is which a lot on this site has compared him to. If he is or not as long as he can keep us in games and let the bats dominate like Dempster has then im fine with this trade. Buch will be back at some point down the stretch and id rather have him at 100% that will bring us game 1 in any series, instead of a 75% healthy Buch that may cost us games down the stretch.
  14. What about the closer from the Mariners? Hes under control for a bunch of years.
  15. Thats exactly what im saying. I dont want him at his current price but as the deadline nears hopefully with Amaro taking in consideration Paps comments about the phillies needing to tear everything down like the red sox did, may piss Amaro off enough to move him at a lesser asking price than what was originally stated. Or is could bombshell and Amaro trades him to a no contending club because of those comments and stick it to Pap for opening his mouth. Amaro knows Pap wants Boston so he may stay away because of Pap hurting the Phillies brand with his comments. Pap in the 7th or 8th and with the potential to close. With Philly picking up some of his contract and getting back a couple mid tier prospects back id make that deal. But if Boston can go out and find a RHP with swing and miss stuff who can come in if needed in the 9th and wont cost as much as Pap id say do that. I just think we are one arm away from being a stacked club. Workman coming to the Pen will be good but i still think we need one more.
  16. I ve seen all the reports about Pap and all i was saying if Ben was calling the Phillies i would be calling about someone other that Young. I think we need a guy brought in before the deadline that can close if something does happen to Koji. I seen that Cafardo said we were in talks with the Padres on a reliever. I wished we had gotten Wilson but it is what it is. I guess im nervous that Koji will just burn out with all the work we are giving him.
  17. Only way i liked Young was if he was packaged with Lee. He would be too pricey for our utility infielder. Im surprised that they havent promoted WMB or Xander yet. A platoon of Snyder or Holt cant be the plans for the rest of the year. And Young would just block WMB and take away his chance of showing what hes got and being the 3B of the future like he took away from Youk lastyear. I hope Young is not in Ben's plans i would let the kids play. Also if Ben was calling the Phillies i would hope he would be checking on Lee or Papelbon. Yes i said Pap because with his comments maybe Amaro will let him go for pennies on the dollar. Im still a lil nervous about having Uehara as our closer. I think another bullpen arm is our biggest need not a 3B who is gonna block our farm kids from coming up. Im not saying Pap is the best option but if i were Ben id atleast check.
  18. Mike Morse is very much available is what MLBtraderumors is saying. He could be the power bat from the Right Side that the Sox need down the stretch. i hope ben atleast looks into it. He may just be a rental and shouldnt cost and significant prospects so i think it would be worth it.
  19. Lets hope it gets done soon. This is unbearable. The Rays have gotten better and their pitching kills us and the Orioles will make another move before 4pm tomorrow. We need a rotation that can compete with the Rays Tigers and Rangers. And a rotation of Lee, Buch, and Lester could be the best top 3 starters in baseball if Buch healthy and Lester back to form. We need to worry about winning the divison before we worry about winning a World Series.
  20. The Dodgers just signed Brian Wilson to a minors deal. What the f*** Ben.
  21. With Young saying he will only accept a trade to the Rangers, i say that the Lee deal wont take as many top prospects. Hopefully 2 Top 10 guys and a lower tier guy will pull it off. I think if Ben waits too long Lee will be gone.
  22. i was asking it after your hypothetical scenario. But i didnt reference your question in my post, i thought you had read the report on traderumors. apology accepted
  23. *sigh* its on mlbtraderumors now that the red sox would go all in to get Stanton *sigh*
  24. All i seen is the red sox are '"willing to part whatever they have to" to obtain Stanton. But still no word on if the Marlins will move him. Lee and Stanton? I know our system is deep but i dont think we have enough to get them both. And if we did our farm system wouldnt be strong anymore so their goes not sacrificing the future comments. I dont know whats gonna happen but this is gonna get interesting.
  25. Is the Marlins willing to listen to offers on Stanton? I havent seen his name mentioned anywhere.
