  1. Another OT for the Grizzlies/Thunder.
  2. I wore black socks!
  3. Remy is finished at NESN.
  4. I think that was 2013, but it shows how ridiculous looking at UZR/150 after 8 innings is.
  5. He's in LF now. Not CF.
  6. Not interested in a 20 game sample, especially when Daniel Nava, Grady Sizemore, and Johnny Gomes are the defensive outfield making up those numbers.
  7. I guess my main problem was with the Clippers players' "statement." I mean, if you are going to send a statement, that was a pretty weak one. It was like employees of an Outback Steakhouse refusing to wear their uniforms before they opened the store, but still doing the work to open it. Does anyone think Donald Sterling even cared that his players wouldn't represent the Clippers while practicing layups? Maybe a general strike is too extreme, but how about some better sabotage than that? Why not all 12 players of both teams spell out F-U-C-K-S-T-E-R-L-I-N-G while sitting on the bench? Probably too crude, but just something that pushes the envelope.
  8. Haha. My statement on page 389 of the NBA Thread constitutes an official demand of action, and casts all who oppose this holy writ as bigots. We can agree to disagree on that note.
  9. Wouldn't the initiated action be the removal of Donald Sterling as owner of the Los Angeles Clippers? How does that defeat the purpose? That's what the goal would be. Don't fine, or suspend him. Remove him. A strike over bigotry empowers bigotry.
  10. It undermines your claim that the racists have brought NBA to a halt. Donald Sterling definitely would not be happy with a work stoppage.
  11. I am in no official capacity to demand anything. I am just giving my opinion of what the players should do if they want Sterling out of the league.
  12. All you're doing here is letting racists and bigots know that their beliefs have the power to move the earth and bring enormous operations like the NBA to a grinding halt. lol I'm the one who is raging? I'm not the one typing profanities in all caps.
  13. All you're doing here is letting racists and bigots know that their beliefs have the power to move the earth and bring enormous operations like the NBA to a grinding halt. A strike would be the players stopping play. Not owners.
  14. You also seem to be under the assumption that this strike would last a long time. The real question is would the owners and Adam Silver even let the players leave the arena before they cut Sterling loose. This would not be a strike over compensation issues. This would be to remove a racist owner from the association. Who would want to be the people on the opposite side of that strike? The fact that NBA players continued to play under Sterling and Marge Schott proves the opposite of what you are claiming. If they won't strike over "million dollar niggers," what else can they get away with? A strike puts those ideas to rest, and lets it be known that it will not be tolerated.
  15. I understand how a strike works. You're the confused one about how they are initiated.
  16. Please tell me how this empowers bigoted owners. You would have to believe that a work stoppage is to the benefit of owners to have this conclusion.
  17. How can you possibly make this conclusion? The players would have brought the league to a halt. Not the owners.
  18. The league wouldn't blow up. The players issue a simple ultimatum. We don't play until Sterling is gone. The NBA has no leverage in the situation. They would be murdered in the media for playing chicken over this issue. Silver would remove Sterling 30 seconds after a general strike commenced.
  19. That's laughable coming from the guy who has murder fantasies about his neighbors for being loud. Solidarity. If I worked for a corporation, and the Los Angeles franchise owner started spouting out about how he owned the "negro" employees, I would enthusiastically strike with them. I would not work for an organization that allowed men like that to manage employees.
  20. That's not a given. Who knows? Maybe in a week LeBron drops 80 points in the next round. Everyone forgets about Sterling. Regardless, he still is owner of the Clippers, and he still is profiting from his "bought negros." I wouldn't play another minute while he is in league. I mean, what if they win the championship? Sterling's net worth increases by $50 million. At least, Chris Paul will look dapper with that championship ring on his finger.
  21. I would not want to be the employee of someone who thinks that they are little more than rented slaves. The NBA players don't seem to be keen on that prospect either. Best way for that to go away? Don't play in a league that sanctions that behavior. He's gone by the end of the week. I would have walked out on the Reds as well, especially after the "million-dollar niggers" comment. It's probably likely many other bosses feel the same way about their employees. It would be nice to see a group of them, who actually have some leverage, tell their boss that they are more than his property. That seems worth fighting for.
  22. How fast would Silver issue the banhammer if league's workers are out on strike during the NBA playoffs? How panicked would the other team owners be? Sterling is gone in a week.
  23. I'm sorry that you would be unable to watch LeBron James dunk a basketball, or hear Mike Breen scream "BANG!" How silly of me to lose focus of the important issues.
  24. It's adorable? Do you have any familiarity with the history of the labour movement?
