I agree for the most part with what you are saying. In the same situation, I would do exactly the same thing that he is doing. I do think that although it is early, many people are likely wondering how healthy and how good does he have to be to resume paling second base for us. Obviously it is a waiting game but personally if Chavis continues to perform adequately at second base, I'm not sure that I would move him until I was completely satisfied the current edition of Pedroia will be able to help this team. I'm thinking that there is a fear that when declared healthy he is going to be popped right back in that lineup and it will be business as usual. Everybody knows what he has done and what he has been capable of doing. The problem is that it has been a long time now since he has done much of anything.
