  2. I've kind of enjoyed the banter. I have had some good laughs. Life gets pretty serious and can get a little nasty when we think we have such profoundly important statements to make and sentiments to express. Just like sandoval, I can follow the breadcrumbs to something new and vastly more important. It was fun - a good laugh.
  3. thank you I guess - I wasn't being accusatory just making a statement. You have been very outspoken in your beliefs, I have not. If you are saying that you believe in a healthy balance then I think that is great. Quite possibly I have misunderstood your feelings about the role advanced metrics play. I have gotten the impression that you have have placed far more value on them than i certainly have. I am very pleased that our primary owner believes that moderation and balance are very important.
  4. Might have to leave him a trail of burgers just to get him out of the dugout this year. Just think about the things that could be thrown at him. Hope he lets people know if he has any food allergies. I'll apologize now for not being sensitive to his feelings.
  5. Note I refuse to call him an athlete - Wonder what he eats between innings? If he is gaining weight during the season, when he is not playing ball or sleeping, he has to be eating. I have plunked myself in a seat down the left field side of Fenway many times. Unless the crowd changes dramatically, he has no chance and it might not matter how well he plays.
  6. He was granted great athletic gifts.
  7. There has to be a balance. it is what many of us have been saying for a very long time. The times they are a changing but in some ways they ain't. It is very interesting to me, his when art meets science comment says a great deal. There has to be a balance. Recognize, and embrace the new but don't ever just abandon the old. Many of the people who are closest to the game are hands dirty people who probably could care less about advanced analytics. There is a time and a place for everything. I'm pretty sure that it is going to be a real good time to be a Red Sox fan. These guys aren't happy and they really want to win. I think that the pressure to perform also will be amped up on Sandoval, Porcello, and Ramirez in particular. it won't surprise me if one of these is just dropped before we get too far into the season. We just have many young athletic and hungry(not Fatsoval hungry) players ready to go. I think that these guys will actually be expected to perform.
  8. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2016/02/24/john-henry-says-red-sox-will-rely-less-analytics/95uy1OmoQw0ojxr7SRcOWO/story.html?event=event25 Ok - here we go . A debatable topic? Might drive some literally over the edge.
  9. You ar killing me here. fatso fatsoval strikes again. I don't know a lot about much but what I do know I like to think I do know. body fat 17% he aint.
  10. shade in the summer - warmth in the winter.
  11. Fatso Fatsoval! Got to admit - this one gets me. I need this at least once a day. I do think that we all have to at least give Hanley a chance at first. Hanley is an athlete - In my opinion Fatsoval is not. He is so far away from being an athlete that I don't even think about Hanley and last year anymore. I'm for athletes not pretenders. Fatso Fatsoval needs to buy tickets to see the games. Maybe he could get a job chucking peanuts. No no wait - any potential profit would be eaten.
  12. With Manny it at least looked as though he might catch the ball. With Hanley not so much. It was kind of like losing every ball hit to you in the sun. I'm sure that he is happier digging them out of the dirt.
  13. I'm just preparing for the "he can't be any worse" than last year so that has to be a good thing crap to start popping up. Travis Shaw can play third base. Holt is a utility player and a good one but Shaw I hope will get a serious look before this is over.
  14. Raphael Alvarez, his personal trainer, says that he is fine. Better shape than last year, quicker, ready to go. We should have no concerns. All is good. No more worries. His trainer says so.
  15. I agree very much with you here. The Sox spin has to be that they "monitored" that fool this off -season to save face with the fan base. If anyone is really satisfied and believes that they in fact monitored him very closely, it is the same as just saying that they are absolutely incompetent. If he can play an adequate third base, I guess most people will be satisfied. I probably will not be because I think we have better options begging for a chance. Players that work hard, care about their fitness and are just flat out better than he is. I'll say it again, i don't think that anyone in that front office or any member of the coaching staff is pleased with what they saw when he came through the door. If he doesn't perform early, I think that his days in Boston will soon be over.
  16. Absolutely right in my opinion. You find jobs for people like John Farrell. I hope as we all do that we win the world series this year. Regardless, Farrell is a good person who strengthens people around him. I'm with you on this one for sure.
  17. http://www.providencejournal.com/article/20160222/SPORTS/160229820/SHARED/st_refDomain=t.co&st_refQuery=/1v3lwSj5i2 I really like what they are doing. It makes a lot of sense. Also looks like this kid will in the outfield very soon. Betts, Benintendi, and pick one from the illustrious list that we currently have. Those two could be fixtures for a long time. If JBJ hits, what an incredibly athletic outfield. Defensively and offensively.
  18. i really would like to see Shaw get a shot and I don't care if it is first or third. i'm hoping that the coaching staff is not too happy right about now with Sandoval and that his leash will be a short one. I am sure that he will get his chance but Shaw might be the better player right now.
  19. Catching situation might become classic moot point. Just read that Vazquez is going to be backed off a bit. Having a little discomfort in his elbow. There certainly is a need to take it easy here. Slow him down - no rush.
  20. I have taken a turn. Hanley gets a pass from me. he has done what he was asked to do. He should get a fair chance and I think that he will. I hope things work out for him, not for us but for him. I don't feel the same way about Sandoval. Sandoval will have a target on his back that he can't bleach off. I think both of these guys will have to play well early to be kept around very long regardless of the $ lost. We have other good options sitting there waiting to be used. With or without them, this team is on the verge of becoming very professional (as in no ******** allowed) and becoming a winner. No comment would be the two words that I would encourage Pablo to use a little more often.
  21. "I don't got nothing to prove." = He was making a joke right?
  22. yawn - lol - I feel so sorry for Sandoval as he waddles his way to be bank. I hope he can succeed but I don't think that it is a stretch to think that a big fat majority of sox fans would be a lot happier if he was simply dropped from the roster.
  23. Is he really pregnant???
  24. who is that little guy beside him? It's just not right.
  25. This one sneaked by the guy in charge of pictures.
