Owens and Johnson mid to back of rotation guys possibly. really nothing special. Historically they continue to do kind of a s***** job developing their own pitching. Some lower level prospects could be good.

I would hope for someone better. Based upon what I see daily, contemporary would not be a prerequisite. Let me get this straight though, are you suggesting that head to head day in day out, you think Farrell is a better baseball manager than Leyland?

His talent is/was undeniable. I just don't think the fact that he was due to make the league minimum made him as attractive as a target as it probably should have. My guess is that there was no way that he was going to pitch for the league minimum. Everybody else knew it to. Just my guess here, but I think that that alone played a role in how hard anybody was going to go after him. I really would be curious to know what else was out there for us to get.

I don't think that it is just yet. Fan chatter pretty much i think. if the talent is there, they probably will win whether he is running the show or not. Maybe the overall talent will ultimately lay over the field. If all things among teams are equal, I don't like our chance much. that is when a manager can actually make a difference.

My speculation is this what the Sox got for Lackey is pretty much the best deal they could have gotten. Don't get me wrong, he can pitch, but he hated being here and it appeared that he was going to be a bigger horses ass than normal if the Sox tried to to keep him here. Cut their losses for sure. Wasn't the first time and as we can see right now, pretty good chance that it wont't be the last time.

My bet is that promotions will be coming sooner than expected for Moncada and Benintendi. Dombrowski is paying a visit but really just to check out the facilities - ok, right- I believe it. It will be interesting to see when they get Moncada off second base also. Lots of talk about Owens taking Kelly's place in the rotation for now. Although an upgrade, I 'm not sure that it is the type of upgrade they are looking for - trade winds are going to be blowing in Boston. With Elias being called up, how many innings (minutes) will it be before Farrell throws him in there. Regardless of what the game situation may be, I'm going with the earliest available opportunity.

No he is not dead. He is not young and pretty sure that he would't want the job but it would be good to have a person who just makes sound baseball decisions leading the way. I have tried not to be overly critical of farrell but he just has done too many things that seem to cause him to make lengthy explanations for why he feels that some seemingly unsound decisions are sound.

I just wished that farrell approached these games as though he truly felt that they were as important as the ones played later in the season. It is a fact. They are John. You should have things figured out already. Nothing about panic - nothing about being patient! Play to win.

I'm thinking that Lackey and the rest of the boys must have been pissed that the menu was limited to just all the beer you can drink and all the chicken you can eat at any time in the locker room. I'm just thinking that maybe the total lack of anything regarding discipline might have had something to do with it. Everybody tends to be happy until they hear the word no.
