  1. ok ok - I'm sorry. I just want Fisk back. There was someone that came after him too that I liked almost as much.
  2. come on - we got Pomeranz on the hill tonight - it's all good! lol (where is Slasher when I need him? Just kidding there.)
  3. Most of us I think anyway have come to terms with what JBJ seems to be although we can still hope for someone a little less streaky. With the lack of power in our lineup, I think that some people have expectations of him that he can't fulfill.
  4. rubles - no s*** - a Ruskie in our midst. Putin for President - i bet he is sizing up the potential for a go at it right now
  5. When i enter the park, I find my seat then just wander around. I pay the price for my brews in the park. I always go to the red seat. i sit beside it not in it. I am not worthy. Seriously what a freaking clout it took to get a ball up there. I just enjoy walking around. Seats are cramped and uncomfortable no matter where you are. I fit in them just fine but many people I have sat beside tend to slop over on to me. I try to keep moving.
  6. We have two catchers that appear to do what they are paid to do - which is to catch (and all of the stuff that goes along with it). Being able to do their primary job adequately (which isn't to hit), makes them both assets. I don't see much difference between the two. I wish that either one of them could be a dependable hitter as well going forward but whatever as long as they do their job they can share the position for all I care.
  7. both of our catchers are great backup guys. lol
  8. We need one more real bat in the lineup! if for no other reason than to make our opponents think that we have one legit h/run threat in there.
  9. You might be right - he probably has a bright future. He may become a very valuable player for us going forward.
  10. For the most part it looks as though we have a small team. Quite possibly very athletic but still kind of small by today's standards. It might not mean a thing.
  11. Most of the media must not have ever seen Freddie play.
  12. lol - our lineup for the most part is smaller than Baltimore's second baseman. my 5 year old tee ball star grandson clearly has a future in New England.
  13. The problem as I see it here Max is that Pomeranz is going to be pitching to the Yankees.
  14. Leon is just fine. Who is the better catcher? I still think that it is a coin flip. You play the one who is at least a little warm with the bat. We are in pretty good shape with both.
  15. It has been proven statistically and emphasized many times that you are without a doubt correct. It is all about talent and a random roll of the dice. The rest of those things are just a bunch of horse s***. lol - i'm finally coming around.
  16. Running Man it is (rainy day as usual)
  17. it was just a recap of yesterday's game from my regular "Official site of the Boston Red Sox" site. For many of us who post here I think that I can say that he sounds like our kind of guy. No ********! No over analysis - no blame to teammates if you can't do your job kind of player. I think he is seriously the real deal.
  18. Not sure I will ever watch a version of Running Man wtf it is. All things change don't they. Kind of like the over emphasis on data collection in baseball for me. About Red - I loved him but I'm a New Englander and a forever Celtics fan. i'm not sure that anyone outside of New England gets to excited about the way Red conducted his BB business. From heat in the visitor's locker rooms to cigars on the bench to helping to re-write the rules on the way players could be drafted. In our estimation, he was always one step ahead for sure.
  19. I agree with you here but I sure wasn't complaining when we had Bird, McHale, Parrish, DJ, and Danny with big Bill coming off the bench. Celtics of the 60's were pretty sweet as well.
  20. Don't get me going. (lol) - Freddie Lynn and Yaz still in a whole different category.
  21. Chris Sale appears to me to be a bit of an old soul when it comes to athletics these days. My idea of tough and gritty. When he speaks, i think that I am going to listen. For all of you Pedroia lovers, Sale has already shown more leadership talent than "Pedey" has in a career. My point is that Sale's latest comments about how he feels about the Panda work for me. Sounds to me like Pablo must be a decent teammate. Regardless of how he has played, he is still our best hope at third. Yard him out there and leave him alone.
  22. This is your opinion. Whether or not he is a good manager, we probably all have our concerns but i haven't seen anything from any player that tells me that they don't respect and like their manager. What Pedroia did is on Pedroia. As for Pomeranz little fit in the dugout, it looked to me as though he was lucky that JF didn't kick his ass. The result looks like Pomeranz started to grow a pair in his next outing. i'm not a huge Farrell fan but it looks to me as though his payers still support him.
  23. Jimmy had some real mental issues but he was one hell of a ball player. I watched him climb the backstop in one game. Wasn't he with the Mets when he ran the bases backwards. When I really started to love the game, Jimmy was a figure for us out there. when you think about it an outfield of Williams, Piersall, and Jensen really looks pretty good. not chump change by any means.
  24. pretty accurate assessment of things I'd say
  25. We need one more real hitter or at least one more guy who looks big enough to be a real good hitter.
