  1. Running Man it is (rainy day as usual)
  2. it was just a recap of yesterday's game from my regular "Official site of the Boston Red Sox" site. For many of us who post here I think that I can say that he sounds like our kind of guy. No ********! No over analysis - no blame to teammates if you can't do your job kind of player. I think he is seriously the real deal.
  3. Not sure I will ever watch a version of Running Man wtf it is. All things change don't they. Kind of like the over emphasis on data collection in baseball for me. About Red - I loved him but I'm a New Englander and a forever Celtics fan. i'm not sure that anyone outside of New England gets to excited about the way Red conducted his BB business. From heat in the visitor's locker rooms to cigars on the bench to helping to re-write the rules on the way players could be drafted. In our estimation, he was always one step ahead for sure.
  4. I agree with you here but I sure wasn't complaining when we had Bird, McHale, Parrish, DJ, and Danny with big Bill coming off the bench. Celtics of the 60's were pretty sweet as well.
  5. Don't get me going. (lol) - Freddie Lynn and Yaz still in a whole different category.
  6. Chris Sale appears to me to be a bit of an old soul when it comes to athletics these days. My idea of tough and gritty. When he speaks, i think that I am going to listen. For all of you Pedroia lovers, Sale has already shown more leadership talent than "Pedey" has in a career. My point is that Sale's latest comments about how he feels about the Panda work for me. Sounds to me like Pablo must be a decent teammate. Regardless of how he has played, he is still our best hope at third. Yard him out there and leave him alone.
  7. This is your opinion. Whether or not he is a good manager, we probably all have our concerns but i haven't seen anything from any player that tells me that they don't respect and like their manager. What Pedroia did is on Pedroia. As for Pomeranz little fit in the dugout, it looked to me as though he was lucky that JF didn't kick his ass. The result looks like Pomeranz started to grow a pair in his next outing. i'm not a huge Farrell fan but it looks to me as though his payers still support him.
  8. Jimmy had some real mental issues but he was one hell of a ball player. I watched him climb the backstop in one game. Wasn't he with the Mets when he ran the bases backwards. When I really started to love the game, Jimmy was a figure for us out there. when you think about it an outfield of Williams, Piersall, and Jensen really looks pretty good. not chump change by any means.
  9. pretty accurate assessment of things I'd say
  10. We need one more real hitter or at least one more guy who looks big enough to be a real good hitter.
  11. Trading one of our only power hitters now would like kind of foolish methinks.
  12. repeat repeat repeat - We need another "real" bat in the order. some of us have felt this way for well over a year now. Most of our guys really don't even look like like hitters.
  13. Shaw has been having his day just not with us. Pablo has to play -errors and all - we need his bat what there is of it. they need one more real hitter!
  14. E-Rod to the dl - these are fragile times!
  15. I got you. You really did not imply anything. It just seems so very interesting to me now and actually I was in favor of the trade partly because of how I feel about teenage prospects in general.
  16. ok - so you know or you think you know what they knew? I'm really just curious and not trying to start something here. If you know then for sure I will go with pretty much what you say with respect to situations like this from here on in.. Do you know or do you kind of assume that it is likely that Espinoza was 100% healthy at the time of the trade?
  17. So on a conspiracy not of sorts - did the Red Sox know for sure that Espinoza was 100% healthy when the trade was made? One of them is currently pitching and one is not.
  18. wtf is a yamsack? bet I can guess - lol
  19. all seriousness - I'm just happy that we are winning. I want them all to do well. I still think that we need another bat.
  20. yup I have been. I liked what I saw of him last summer. A big lefty with upside. He is young and is a ml pitcher. Like I said last year, over and over, I hope that Espinoza becomes what all of the scouts said he might but I still liked the odds for us in making this trade. If Pomeranz was older, I would have felt differently for sure but he is still young.
  21. don't rain on my parade.
  22. You know I want to say something about Pomeranz right now but I'll behave myself. lol Is Espinoza pitching again yet?
  23. the better lighting perfect baseballs batter's eyes are better at ml ballparks
  24. Rutledge does give us depth for sure but I think you have it about the way it is apt to shake out. I have always been optimistic when it comes to Marrero. I don't see him as a third baseman but without Hernandez and with Pedroia's injury history, Marrero could be the one for the job. it doesn't seem that long ago that people thought that he would become our next ss. I do think that Sandoval will get one more opportunity which I give about a 25 to 75% chance of working out. odds not being in his favor. With respect to Travis, he has always hit. Much like Benintendi.
  25. It's what they do. Can't wait to see what they do with their hit machine (Sam Travis) when the next moves are made.
