  1. the Bridgewater triangle??? Like to see that one - be down there Sunday !
  2. Bamba is 20 years old. he is light for a kid that is what 6"11- 220 I think. What is good about him is his athleticism. He can run and he jumps out of the building. he is for sure a project and probably is not an actual Ainge target. He is a defender and a shot blocker for sure right now. He is not Manute Boll! Like I said - he might not be in the Celtic future but he sure as s*** isn't chump change either. Some team who wants size may very well wind up with a good one here.
  3. We'll likely never get much more of a story than we have already gotten. I'm fine with that. If Hanley had been hitting for power, got to think he would still be here and playing most everyday. Don't think that Mr Henry was concerned at all about another 20+ million if it was translating in to a title.
  4. Very true. Kind of comes right down to what a team needs. Not sure what Ainge is apt to do. Maybe nothing but I doubt that. Both Rozier and Brown are likely to be playing fewer minutes next year if they are bout here. it is going to possibly be an interesting off season.
  5. Do they close that bar when the game begins?
  6. Celtics have interest in Mo Bamba - very interesting. You can't coach height.
  7. I agree with you here. I was really hoping that we might catch a glimpse of what Hanley has accomplished in the past. Looked to me as though he was working out there as hard as anybody. I hope he does and think that he probably will catch on with somebody. Can't imagine why he wouldn't.
  8. Ramirez is what a 13 year verteran who for the most has not had to sit down a whole lot. I don't care who it is, you sit a guy like this down for any stretch of time if he still feels that he can play and issues might arise. If this wasn't a concern that at least someone might have been thinking about, why wouldn't they just sit this happy little camper on the bench and use him every now and again in hopes that his magic might return. Not sure how he would have reacted if it became apparent that his option wasn't going to vest because he was sat but it is possible that it would not have been nicely. He was simply released which is what many here have been calling for. His release has nothing to do with what he looks like or the way he wears his hair or his particular life choices. Unbelieveable that that that garbage was even brought up.
  9. I think that we should just give them all A+ grades. It is what people do these days. We don't want to dampen a spirit or hurt someone's pride.
  10. JBJ made some good solid contact yesterday. Liked seeing him go to the opposite field. If he starts to hit just a little, we all will be able to breathe easy.
  11. So we disagree and that is ok - the addition of the human element always makes things entertaining for me whether they are proven right or wrong - the constant use of replay and the obvious attempt to sterilize the game does not interest me at all. My "fan card" is running out I think. As we use replay more and more and with the possibility of using robots to even call balls and strikes for us, I see a trend toward no umpires whatsoever. Not for me I guess. I'm glad that they still print real books for me to read. It will give me something to do on these otherwise baseball days.
  12. Have to add here though that as much as I like what Smart has to give, if he thinks that he is going to get 14plus million from the Celtics - he is living in a dream world.
  13. ty All gave something, some gave everything! It is important to remember.
  14. First of all let me say that I really am against replay for the most part in this great old past time but if you are going to use instant replay with an emphasis on getting it right so to speak I can't imagine anybody except people like me who would be against using robots to call your balls and strikes. Maybe it would help us since then we might be able to find a catcher who could hit due to the fact that framing pitches wouldn't seem to have much importance anymore. I love the game but have to admit that it is getting tiresome with an over emphasis with a need to prove everything to be right. They still on occasion don't seem to get it right. I get frustrated when it looks like umps make mistakes but it also makes me appreciate the parts of this game that are imperfect. The human element with all of its faults has always made the game much more entertaining to me.
  15. I'll admit that my memory is a little shaky but I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that Hanley's recent shoulder surgeries were going to allow him to play like he did 7 or 8 years ago. Some would make the arguement that a healed Hanley just didn't have enough time to strut his stuff. Not me! Oh well though I also don't think that 2 months of playing regularly is a particular small sample size either. I'm pretty much in the minority here don't you think. I don't even like the expression sample size. My point I guess that I was trying to make is that you can't change the individual sample size rules just to suit the way you want to look at things.
  16. and away we go
  17. I have to let the dust settle I think while I gather my thoughts. Hope Danny does too. What I take away from this is that Jason Tatum is on the verge and will become a great player in this league. I like Smart. I get the fact that he does not shoot the ball well but he does so many other things that very few others will do that he is very valuable. If the Celtics choose not to pay him, someone else will. It said a lot last night about both Rozier and Brown that when the game was really on the line, both of them were not on the floor together very much. Brown disappeared and Rozier showed us why we need to have Irving out there as much as possible. Nonetheless it was a great year for a young team. One of the differences that I saw last night between Brown and Smart was that when James went to the hoop, Brown waved at him and ducked while Smart took two charges. I prefer that type of player whether he shoots well or not.
  18. Won't someone who loves Hanley please just humor me and tell me how the "sample size" was just too small at this point in the season to dump him. My God - it's only the first of June. lol
  19. I agree - but I also would say that personally I would be ok without press conferences in general to explain these types of things to me.
  20. I'm just one of those dopes who doesn't really want to know everything about everything which is what happens these days. Many people think that our massive access to information where everybody gets to express an opinion about anything even if it does not involve them at all in anyway is a good thing and will lead to better times. The "news" and reporting the news in general has become nothing more than an extended arm of the entertainment industry. For the record, if you and I were in a room and having a debate, I might disagree with you over some things and we would have fun discussing those things. I bet that we both have about the same amounts of spirit when it comes to the things that really matter. I will never disagree with any point that you make on this forum board even if I do not agree with what you say or think. I wish that we lived a little closer together - I bet that we could solve a lot of the problems the world faces today. lol
  21. Maybe Cora can do that out of the public eye and claim it was a DD move. That might get some traction here. lol
  22. This is another non-story for me. I'm with Bellhorn on this one. I could not care any less about whose idea it might have been to jettison Ramirez. But what the hell I have never been particularly enamored with him. No hit = No Hanley. I believe what I have been led to believe and it works for me. I suppose for those who do not like Dombrowski and want to believe that he is not being truthful, it gives them something to criticize him for. I think that the good news is that he doesn't care what any of us think. Doesn't affect what he wants to do which is win. For those who have commented about the public being deceived today with resect to the news, I wish that we saw and heard a lot less of it than we do. It's this information age I guess and we aren't going backward.
  23. Good one! I see that also.
