  1. Stop it Slasher - Impossible What is possible though is that no matter how much bitching and arguing we do, we all I think can agree that this particular group no matter how or who is responsible for assembling them has been an absolute pleasure to watch and follow. What a summer!!!
  2. I don't think that anyone is advocating for him playing anywhere in the outfield full time.
  3. To find the answer as to why JD was in right last night, I think you would have to go directly to the highly rated and appreciated metric folks working for the Sox. That is where Cora got his information (according to him) with respect to putting his best outfield in place with JBJ on the bench.
  4. No I can't!!! If I could I wouldn't because I would be afraid of leaving out some particularly disagreeable peckerhead. i don't want anybody's feelings being hurt.
  5. I'm with you here Moon and i think that DD has excellent eye for coming up with those tweaks.
  6. Dojji's posts are working well for me.
  7. I basically agree with your whole post here though I do think that Leon is likely capable of handling 60 to 80 % of the load going forward. I suppose the Sox might have been keeping Swihart on the 25 man in a sort of planning ahead if something unfortunate were to happen kind of way. My guess though would be that they really wanted and probably still want to find out if he is really worth hanging onto going forward. With respect to ml baseball in general, the overall level of play sort of stinks. I'm really happy that we are one of the few have teams at this time. We are going to find out about Swihart pretty soon for sure.
  8. Sandy Leon is a very competent catcher. He is as good as Vazquez. I believe he is very capable of doing the job with a few days off here and there.
  9. I'm really scratching my head over the pressing need in some people's minds to trade for anybody right now. We have some guys toward the back end of our lineup who might even be stars playing for someone else. Outside of a few teams, ml baseball really isn't high on quality this year. Go with what we got.
  10. Me too with respect to Pearse. I think that DD does his homework and is trying to bring the right types of guys in to Boston.
  11. Whoops that catch by Bogaerts sure has to confuse our metric loving folk who tend to think that he sucks just like JD. Great catch!
  12. Good post Hitch - i think there are quite a few of us who are really pulling for this kid!
  13. Right again my friend!
  14. You are so right there. He really is my kind of player. tough tough tough gamer. I love those guys. We seem to have quite a few of them right now.
  15. Anybody here think that Holt might have a career in the booth someday if he wants it? I do.
  16. Oh boy - you rascal you!!!
  17. I'm not sure whether I was a Holt supporter or not. Sometimes yes and sometimes no I guess. I think that right now he should be our primary second baseman. He has earned the job.
  18. Not me, I think they have their man in Swihart. Now if the question is could the catching we have be upgraded at some point - yup I think it could be.
  19. It really is obvious to me anyway that Ben was not ready for the big job. I wasn't ready for someone taking over who had to really learn on the fly regardless of the praise heaped on him for what he did.
  20. Sorry Slash ( and I like you too) but we finally have a competent GM who will lead us into the future. I'm not buying this crap about decimating the farm at all. I have complete faith that he will stick handle things and this team will compete for as long as he is here. To me personally putting a team in a position to win every year isn't that easy. He has done and will continue to do so. For gawd sake, Ben Cherington was not ready for the big job. If he was, he certainly would be a household name on the big stage by now.
  21. yup - me too - an adult is in charge of the f***ing hen house. he gets it.
