  1. Atleast the season can remain on life support after today.
  2. The Red Sox can't win a game to save their lives lately. Meanwhile, the O's are about to be 21-6 in 1 run games this year if they hold on. Absolutely pathetic.
  3. The Red Sox absolutely have to find a way to win this game. A sweep at home against this pathetic Twins team will no doubt be the final nail in the coffin. What once looked like a promising 10 game homestand that started out 2-0 has all of a sudden turned into an absolute comedy of horrors. A loss today would put them at 2-5. Best case scenario they take 2 out of 3 against Texas and you're still looking at a 4-6 homestand.
  4. I would almost welcome it at this point because this team is going nowhere this season. Their focus needs to be on how to improve the overall attitude and image of their organization for next season. It is clear they are the laughing stock of baseball at this point and they need a personnel change. Only this time they don't need to start and end the purge with the manager, coaching, and training staff.
  5. I agree that its difficult to blame the hitting when the pitching has been so terrible throughout the year. But to me, there has not been a single aspect of this entire organization that has not absolutely failed this season. Yes, the offense has been one of the best in the league in the runs scored category. But there have been times this year (as evident last night) where they have been absolutely absent. I'd love to look at not only their average runs scored per game, but the standard deviation of those runs scored. The pitching we've hit on ad nauseum. Defense has been lacking in critical losses. Bobby was never given a serious chance to succeed by this team, but he hasn't helped his cause with the way he has handled the adversity. I don't even want to get into the lack of accountability and leadership in the baseball ops and ownership realms - that's a 5 gallon can of worms itself. Add to it the endless injuries and off the field drama and you have the daily update of digust we fans have had to endure for what is almost a full calendar year.
  6. I'm trying to recall a game this year where this team cruised to a solid victory and I'm struggling to do so. Yes, this team has had a few blowout wins. But it just goes back to the inconsistent offense approach at the plate. Although its not as serious of an issue as the pitching, this year's offense has been terribly inconsistent at times. Unlike any recent teams, this team has done a poor job this season at consistently making the opposing starting pitcher work.
  7. Where would this team have to be through 100 games to be in sell mode? 40-60? Seriously, they have a better shot at closing in on Seattle and KC than they do getting to the top of the WC.
  8. Could not have said it better. Hope you don't mind the new sig
  9. Tomorrow and Sunday I will have to stock the entire fridge and stay within 10 feet of it while I watch the final 2 games of this series.
  10. Even the team 3 years ago, as frustrating to watch as they were, made the playoffs. This is a group that has enough talent to at least make it into the playoffs- especially with the 2nd wild card. They have failed to live up to their talent level for what is going on 3 years now. On top of that, they create childish PR scandals and are run by a group that will sit there and deny they are faulted until they are blue in the face. Disgraceful that they put this fanbase through all of this nonsense. The Tampa Rays organization puts every ounce of energy and resources into their baseball organization for a fanbase that is non existant, from the ownership on down to the players. This group, on the other hand, is so caught up in their own agendas and sadly, very few seem to have winning at the top of it.
  11. I still don't see the logic in not becoming sellers this year. The extra wild card has clearly shifted the leverage from the buyers to the sellers. It's not just the fans who are asking for it. The market is showing it can be a clear advantage. Just look at what the Brewers got back for Grienke, essentially a 2 month rental.
  12. The angels arent too far out of the division and still play the Rangers a lot. With the Rangers recent injuries, I wouldn't be surprised if the Angels give them a run
  13. I'd be drinking too if I wasn't at work. It's the only way to watch this team these days.
  14. Aviles was a nice story in the 1st half but has done nothing of late. Even his game winning hit the other night was a blooper that just got over the glove of Andrus. Iglesias time has to be drawing near
  15. 1st inning woes are unreal - even with this terrible staff
  16. Doubtful with his speed and ichiros arm. Anyone else on the team would have scored though.
  17. Sucks that Ross ball was GRD. Gonzo probably wouldn't have scored from 1st anyway
  18. Pedey has really been swinging the bat well. Had some big hits in the Texas series and a bunch of loud outs as well.
  19. Glad the organization found the Wally the green monster costume so they can now focus solely on ways to improve the team going forward.
  20. Or when the product on the field justifies the prices they are charging.
