  1. Absolute BS. No hard hit balls and 2 runs cross the plate. Say what you want about Beckett, but tonight's performance kept us in the game. 8 runners left on base. Atleast 4 balls tagged for outs. O's get cheap hits to score runs.
  2. f***ing runners left on base in this game. Does this team have any heart?
  3. RED SOX (57-59) Ellsbury CF Ciriaco DH Pedroia 2B Gonzalez 1B Ross RF Lavarnway C Crawford LF Aviles SS Valencia 3B Pitching: RHP Josh Beckett (5-9, 4.97) ORIOLES (62-53) Markakis RF Hardy SS McClouth LF Jones CF Wieters C Davis DH Reynolds 1B Machado 3B Quintanilla 2B Pitching: LHP Wei-Yin Chen (10-7, 3.79) Win one tonight for Johnny! GO SOX!
  4. Let's not forget that the 2 teams have a history dating back to last year with the fight and Schowalter's comments at the beginning of the season. Frankly, their act has gotten old quickly for me. They should be thankful to be where they are on the standings at this point. They haven't lost an extra inning game yet this season and they have defied their run differential all season in the standings. Maybe its just me, but I don't see any vast improvements to any particular area of their team compared to last year and yet they keep winning games.
  5. Even if they are going nowhere this season, they have to make some kind of statement against the team that passionately celebrated last year's final demise on the field last September. If this team has any pride whatsoever they will show up in Baltimore.
  6. No worries, The circus is finally up and running!
  7. Apparently there is a malfunction with the start of tonight's performance at the circus because the Red Sox are ahead 3-0.
  8. Lots of players are placed on waivers and clear without getting traded. Of this group, Crawford is the lone player that no team will claim or acquire in a trade. Aviles and Shoppach could actually help a contending team. Punto can be the ringleader of the team's celebrative activities if said team is lucky to have them. He serves no other purpose.
  9. Barnum and Bailey are proud to present to you... The 2012 Boston Red Sox!
  10. This is a very good analogy save for the frustration most feel when they have a bad day at the golf course. In post game interviews certain guys claim they are giving their all each night out. However, there are certain guys we can all name who have their well compensated job nowhere near the top of their priority list. And we view this team for the sum of its parts- not the individual efforts of a select group.
  11. In relevant Red Sox news, Igelsias has been tearing it up at Pawtucket at the plate. Definitely deserves a good look at short in September. The Aviles act should come to an end by the end of this year.
  12. This Guardians team had lost 12 of their last 13 games. The Twins are battling for next years top 5 picks. Inexcusable to be 1-4 against these teams, even with the teams dreadful deficiencies. 49 more opportunities to frustrate the fans even more! What are we going to have to endure next?
  13. Beckett's terrible outing highlighted even more now. If he had given up a more modest 4-5 runs, we'd have a comfortable lead. Instead, 8 ER. What a joke.
  14. I swear they don't score like this against the rest of the league. It's our terrible pitching staff. Look at the guys in their lineup our pitchers have no answer for: - Kinsler - Hamilton - Cruz - Murphy - Napoli At times, Beltre and Andrus can be put in that category. That is almost every single guy they bring up to the plate. They can't be this good all the time against us if our pitching isn't terrible. But the pitching sucks, it has for 3 years, and it MUST be addressed in the offense. Even if it is an expensive fix, it is clear this group collectively will not work.
  15. Im glad his ass got booed off the field. All he has to do is go out there and do what Lester did last night- keep this team in the game. Instead, he gives up 8 runs and can't get out of the 6th inning. 3 runs before the team even came to bat. The offense tried to bail him out multiple times and he just gave the lead right back. I don't care if they are facing the back to back AL champs. He has to keep us in the game today.
  16. Here in Texas, there is a special with Papa John's pizza where you get half off on your order when the Rangers score more 7 or more runs in a game. At work, pizza is ordered from Papa John's Atleast once per week. Thanks for the pizza Josh!
  17. This is why don't you don't give your team an early hole every time you take the mound. Circus catch by Murphy. I swear, this Rangers team should have won the world series each of the last 2 seasons with the talent and good fortune they receive. How are they 0-2 in world series appearances?
  18. I agree that this must be one of their solutions to the pitching problem. It's foolish to think that the current group will all collectively step up and perform to the expectations we have for them. For whatever reason, they have proven over the course of 2-3 seasons that they are what they are. This rotation needs some new blood and a new perspective. A guy like Peavy who hasn't seen much playing time in October could perhaps revive the focus in the rotation. Right now, it's a country club attitude with the same faces and mindsets. On the other hand, Peavy's injury history + our team's medical/training staff + the ridiculous amount of un preventable injuries that plague our team scare me. Depth will have to be there in the form of quality and quantity.
  19. Dempster's starts against us this year have been baffling.
  20. The little things this team can't execute. Maybe not the biggest problem but clearly frustrating to watch.
  21. About time someone vents
  22. f***ing BS call. And Murphy wasn't struck out in his AB earlier in the game either. That's just typical of the things that happen when these teams play each other. The Red Sox usually haven't played to be in the majority of these games, but when they have, the Rangers have gotten the majority of the good fortune that is left to chance.
