  1. Beane will likely get a steal off Kazmir too. Problem with Kazmir is he is amazing against AL West teams and meh against everyone else.
  2. If only he could stay this effective all the time, then this wouldn't need to be debated. At this point though you never know when he could implode or get injured again. Personally I would like to keep him and hope that he continues to be as productive as he is, but history has shown us all this will not happen. I think he would be better being traded to an NL team (I'm thinking dodgers, they lost a ton of pitching to injury) for some young cost controlled pitching prospect(s.) This may be one of the best moves Ben can make right now.
  3. It's actually happened a lot with other teams so far this season.
  4. Harang wouldn't be the worst idea. A low cost innings eater that can keep a sub 4 ERA would be great.
  5. Maybe. Maybe not. If they keep winning it could turn around but they won't win playoff games with this team
  6. Starting to wonder if maybe they can turn this around, seeing some glimmer of hope lately. Still need better pitching though
  7. Why can't they put those three at the bottom of the lineup...
  8. 5 Ks through 3 now, hopefully Buch can keep this up
  9. Since the Astros K more than any team in the AL, Buch may be able to keep it together today.
  10. So Mookie, Holt and Bogaerts start things off, then Ortiz Hanley and Sandoval kill it for us..
  11. Damn it, I was posting in the wrong game thread.. anyways RIP Boyd.
  12. Boyd will likely be packing his bags for AAA again after today.
  13. De Aza has been a pleasant surprise so far
  14. well this game is probably beyond reach now.
  15. He's 25/79 lifetime against Buehrle with a line of 316/357/582/939. 13 of those 25 hits have been for extra bases, 4 of them homers. Too bad Pedroia is out, he's hit Buehrle really well too. Napoli, Bogaerts, and JBJ even have had good success against him as well, albeit in small sample sizes. Napoli: 7/24 2 doubles 1 HR 3 BB 6 K 292/357/500/857 Bogaerts: 3/11 2 doubles 1 HR (yes all 3 hits are extra base hits) 0 BB 0 K 273/273/727/1000 I looked at some stats on fangraphs and the active right handed sox actually don't hit left handed pitching all that well, with the exception of Napoli who crushes LHP. He has a career .390 wOBA vs LHP. I think Napoli might do something big in this game, It's a decent matchup. (.366 wOBA against LHP in 2015 alone - vs Buerhle's .328 wOBA allowed to RHB at home this season) Any word on Hanley playing??? If so it's a great matchup for him (.442 wOBA vs LHP in away games this season HOLY s***) If Hanigan plays it's a good matchup for him as well. On another note, Pablo should stop switch hitting and hit left handed, he actually hits lefties BETTER from the left side, and he's absolutely terrible from the right side. Fun fact of the day: Rick Porcello has struck out in 100% of PAs this season.
  16. It's not out of the question with Buehrle starting tomorrow, the Sox have plenty of right handed bats to go after him with. The only problem is we have Porcello starting, and all in all Buehrle isn't bad. He is probably the BJ's best starter right now.
  17. Ortiz with a bomb, nice to see that
  18. So JBJ hits a homer? Am I going insane?
  19. At least Buccholz is keeping the Jays offense in check for now
  20. This game is at Rogers, I think Buchholz gets murdered today honestly.
  21. That had me cracking up, especially with Don picking on Remy's accent I died when Don said "Tamper Bay"
