Is it bad I sort of miss the 'waiting for the three run homer' days? At least the Sox were able to outscore teams then.

I don't care if the sox go out and spend all the money they just freed up on contracts.. As long as it's 1-2 year contracts and nothing long term at all. -
I really think Tito was fired, I really doubt that he would just up and decide to leave the team, I think he cared too much. Sure he wasn't the best manager, but he had become a bit of a staple associated with the team.. After awhile it was hard to think of the Sox without thinking of Terry.

I wasn't trying to say otherwise. I'm just saying that the guys you listed, and the guys I listed would make a pretty solid bullpen. I really do like the strides Miller has made, and I think it's a good thing the Sox had patience with him. I knew the guy could do it. Now, do you think Miller would be the future setup man? It doesn't look much like Bard is ever going to make it back to where he was before.

A lot of the people who attacked them disappeared as well. Even if this team still had those huge contracts and were still under .500 the next season and the season after and so on, I'd still be a fan.. I keep a certain loyalty to my sports teams, but above all to the Boston Red Sox. Good times or bad, complaining or not, I will never turn my back on this team.

Look at guys like Pierzynski, he's not necessarily elite, but he's having a career year when he's 35. He's batting .285 with an OPS of .854 and a career high 23 homers right now.

Ten bucks says Melancon voted for himself. Aceves voted for "someone else" because he thinks if he can't have the job, then no one should be able to.
