  1. How many of them are any good and NOT linked to giving up top draft picks?
  2. I guess Cherington was too busy with the Ortiz deal and Theo snuck one in behind his back
  3. That news just killed my soul. Well I guess we'll be getting old retreads again this offseason.
  4. Not really 100% sure how I feel about this.. but I think I like it better than the Bobby V signing.
  5. Cleveland will win more games before the ASG, then trail off again.
  6. Or he did that for the same reason he started Dice K the other night, he didn't want a job anymore.
  7. For your information, I can count to at least five.. I think....
  8. I couldn't even count the number of times you said "is a lock to/for"
  9. I guess starting Dice was a way for BV to make sure they fire him.
  10. It's certainly looking like that's what it will be.. The getting lit up part I mean
  11. Melancon closing out games in the AL is f***ing frightening. Not in a good way either.
  12. I'd take Iglesias and his absolutely atrocious hitting over Aviles and his barely more than mediocre hitting.
  13. Does anyone still think they will contend next season?
  14. Jesus, we need bullpen help this offseason too, old Ben's got a laundry list of s*** to do this winter.
  15. Ellsbury is still young, but he's 29. It's not like he's 22 and has a ceiling like 2011. I doubt he'll ever put up those numbers ever again, and even though some guys are having career years well into their 30s, it's not that common. I think it was a one off as well.
  16. It's such a shame this kid has such good defense, he just can't hit for s***. Can we please just get him above the Mendoza line so he can stay?
  17. Maybe John Farrell will come back to boston so he doesn't have to deal with guys in his lineup writing "you are a faggot" in spanish on their eye black.
  18. I'd stay away from Sizemore unless he's going to be the 4th or 5th OF. He's good, but he just can't stay healthy at all. I like the idea of Melky or Choo though, Choo especially. I wonder if the Sox will shop Doubront or hold onto him?
  19. They could take a flier on someone until Bradley is ready. Andrus is a great SS, but his speed is what counts. I don't know if he would work out for the sox considering they still like to play station to station and wait on the big homer. Having someone in your lineup with not a lot of power, but plenty of speed isn't going to work unless you let them run the bases.. He could bat 8th or 9th for us though, unless we get rid of Ellsbury, then maybe leadoff.
  20. I could think of cleaner places to do it than the bathroom at yankee stadium.
  21. We need a real picthing coach. That's the only other way I can find to explain everyone's drop in velocity. If we get a pitching coach that can make things work, the pieces we have will look a little better, but they still definitely need top pitching help, no doubt about that.
  22. At least they can still sometimes win a game. Good performance by Buch minus the 5 walks he issued.
  23. There were articles all over mlbtr about this, all of them quoting either Lucchino or Henry as they are standing pat and won't sell for a long time.
  24. I can't believe this game thread got to 7 pages...
  25. What about roid-injuries?
