    As much as I wouldn't mind Atchison, where would he go? The bullpen is absolutely crammed right now. I really hope this guy gets his s*** together this year and realizes that he isn't some ace closer or top of the rotation starter. His place is in the bullpen, as the longarm. Although I think I'd rather have him as the spot starter than Morales.

    If Ortiz bat third, he would have one of Pedroia, Middlebrooks, or maybe Napoli. Personally I like the idea of Pedroia giving Ortiz better protection

    Seems more reasonable to expect. Lackey posting a sub 4 ERA would be nothing short of a miracle. Although I believe it was SFF that said when Napoli caught Lackey, Lackey posted a mid 3's ERA something like 300 innings.. That sounded great, until Napoli decided to have old man hips.

    I was about to say, I don't think scouting reports are really what you can go on when determining how good someone is or is going to be.. Those are just opinions as well. I don't make my mind up on anyone until I see exactly what they can do, even then you still have to take into consideration things like sample size, etc. etc.

    Anyone notice that not only have the sox been giving out 3/39 contracts, they are also paying 3.9 over the next 3 years to the dodgers as per the blockbuster trade.

    Sanchez even at the contract he is asking for, is starting to seem like less and less of a bad idea. Compared to guys like Dempster, it's a much better idea. We know he is an innings eater, we know he pitches effectively, we know that he would help anchor a rotation that is in desperate need of help. I say pay him.
