  1. Lately it seems they have been asking everyone about everything. No way this happens.
  2. But what about his speed on the bases?!?!?!
  3. According to the article on MLBTR: Victorino "fits the profile that the team seeks of an above-average defensive outfielder capable of playing both right and center at Fenway Park." Maybe they are looking to move Ellsbury..
  4. From the offseason thread: This is what makes me think it's going to happen.
  5. I knew this was going to happen...
  6. I'm now under the school of thought that Napoli is going to catch for Lackey, those will be the games that he does catch, and maybe then 1b will be Sands/Gomez just for those games.
  7. We could have made that happen...
  8. Not sure if someone was thinking of doing this, but I figured it would be something fun to do while we wait for the next move to be made, plus I'm curious who everyone would choose, considering I've seen a lot of "votes" for both Hamilton and Swisher in the offseason threads.
  9. Napoli becomes Lackey's personal catcher?
  10. Who in their right mind would make that deal? Why are the Mets even asking for a haul like that? I mean I know he won the CY and all, but damn.
  11. I'd rather sign Youkilis at 20MM a year than deal prospects for that guy
  12. That would be a pretty good deal there, I think they are going to aim for Swisher though, I really do. I think we'll probably see Swish, MAYBE Haren, and maybe even Brian Wilson.. Apart from that we'll maybe see some more SP depth signings, but nothing special.
  13. We won't get Sanchez unless Cherington really opens up the purse, or a miracle happens.. If they don't want to sign someone at more than five years, I doubt we're going to see this guy in a sox uniform.
  14. It's illiterate, not "illetriate."
  15. 2010 Buch was great besides the 6.2 SO/9, if he could consistently give us a season like that one, that's what the sox need from him. They don't need him to become a #1, they need a real #1.
  16. Okay I'll have to agree with you on some of that. He was very ace-like between april and september. He was only 21 outs from 200 innings, His ERA+ was actually higher in 2011 than it was in 2007. Though I will admit that he was more dominant in 07, and was a major piece of the world series that year as well.
  17. I said 2011 Beckett, not Beckett overall. I guess you just missed that part though
  18. The closest thing we had to an ace since Pedro was 2011 Beckett. Clay Buch is a number 3, and will always be a number 3.
  19. I think they will sign Brian Wilson to a contract that will help him rebuild value. Even if he's coming off his second TJ, I think he would be better than Bailey.
  20. I think they sign Steven Drew, then the Iglesias/Ciriaco platoon won't even be a question.
  21. Yeah, he just allowed walkoff singles in tie games that were crucial to the team getting a playoff berth :harhar:
  22. I get that he doesn't hit as many homers as Salty, but Ross has a better career OBP, not to mention Salty has also struck out 11 more times in 125 less at bats.
  23. The Mets are looking for catching help, and are talking about shopping R.A. Dickey, any thoughts?
