My guess is the owners thought Bloom could rebuild the farm, cut payroll and put together an MLB team that wins 85-90 games.

All you can really do is decide which stories pass your smell test. The stories that Bloom was indecisive do pass my smell test.

You do have a good point about durability risk. Going forward, Nola looks less risky than Snell by maybe 20-30%.

I can't see them not doing some things to get the fans interested in 2024. By firing Bloom they pretty much put the onus on themselves to do that.

His full season numbers now are not great for a DH. His OPS+ is down to 108. 15 HR and 70 RBI. Yes, you could say I'm pessimistic about him.
