  1. It's official, he's a Jay.
  2. Well, that's a bit of a leap. Maybe Moto wants to play in Boston. If not there's Snell, Montgomery etc.
  3. I'm convinced that the only way we get Moto is if he decides he prefers Boston. If he wants to play in NY, we might as well forget it.
  4. Ohtani decision is "imminent".
  5. I just think Henry is likely to reach that point sooner than Cohen.
  6. Was the Lackey signing good, bad or somewhere in between? That's a discussion in itself. Might have been no ring in '13 without him.
  7. That's true, but there's some randomness in there. One of those trades was for a guy in his late thirties, Schilling.
  8. Steve Cohen has a net worth of 19.8 billion and is borderline crazy. He's the one owner who's willing to reach into his own pocket to fund the payroll. So if it's down to money, we have no chance.
  9. No, it's not hard to know at all. Cohen flew to Japan to meet Moto in person. He's all in. The only way the Sox can sign Moto is if he really prefers Boston to NY for some reason.
  10. Agreed, if they sign Moto and Monty, Full Throttle is on.
  11. Yes, 3 of the original top 6, which leaves only 3.
  12. Not specifically, just that grab bag as a whole. I'd be fine with Stroman or Wacha as our #2 acquisition if they come with Moto or Snell-or Monty, at least.
  13. Ohtani seems to be bound for the Dodgers or the Jays. Both the Yankees and the Mets are reportedly all in on Moto. How the hell are the Sox going to outbid those two?
  14. Maybe it's insurance policies for both Judge and Stanton. The important thing is, now one of us gets to say "I told you so."
  15. We'll see what shakes out. But I think Verdugo will be in pinstripes. $9 mill actually isn't that much for a 2 WAR player.
  16. No, that's a major yuck. Although I don't know much about Imanaga.
  17. But the Soto trade was in the works when they traded for Verdugo. What was the point of the trade for Verdugo?
  18. I just mean you're in deep in general, with the prospect and roster stuff.
  19. You guys are in deep.
  20. I say with some pride that Talksoxers were ahead of the pack in predicting that the $225 mill projection would get blown way past.
  21. Get ready for quite a few game highlights of Soto hitting balls over the porch - some of them way over it, of course. As the Stadium goes wild.
  22. Yankee fans are a lot like Sox fans these days - skeptical and pessimistic.
  23. They must think we're pretty stoopid.
  24. Sure, but trading your top prospect for one guaranteed year seems a bit much. When has any Sox CBO ever done that?
  25. Sox ownership and patience haven't had much of a relationship for a while either.
