  1. Isn't he? f***, what a loser you have to be to come out with some of the pathetic s*** he does.
  2. Exactly. Fred, your ass is not on the line.
  3. You'd think that if Victorino is reasonably healthy and the Red Sox wanted to move him, they could find somebody who would take him if the Sox pay a chunk of the $13 million.
  4. Does the data support that, Kimmi?
  5. The point was strictly for Jacko, who is raving about Yankee pitching and heaping abuse on Red Sox pitching based on the tiny spring samples.
  6. Well, you did say "Buchholz is trying to show everyone he can be an ace, and he's showing the opposite", although he has a 1.80 ERA, a 1.1 WHIP and a 6-1 K/BB.
  7. His fastball topped at 94 yesterday so it's up.
  8. You're making quite a big deal about a guy being held back a few more days in spring training games.
  9. It's pretty simple now, I think. Either Castillo starts in AAA or Vic is DL'd or traded.
  10. Betts has looked great, but I'm not sure 'murdering Castillo' is accurate, since Castillo was hurt and is now 3 for 4 with a home run since he started playing.
  11. The old f*** was dying? Nice.
  12. Tommy, not Bobby, Layne, the lefty. He's looked pretty good since we got him last year.
  13. They will not trade Betts, I'm quite sure. Making a trade like that will always raise the question, why didn't you just sign a free agent pitcher when you had the chance?
  14. Cole Hamels has a 9.00 ERA and a 1.86 WHIP this spring.
  15. One thing I read was that the movement on his pitches has all been side to side and not down. The implication was that if it stays that way he will suck donkey balls.
  16. LOL I like it. Forget projections and advanced metrics, the deciding factor for the 2015 Red Sox is whether the rotation sucks donkey balls or not.
  17. Buchholz hasn't been that bad at all, according to the numbers.
  18. One thing I'm pretty confident of is that the Sox FO will not sit on their hands if the rotation gets off to a really bad start.
  19. Nice start for Castillo - a 3-run jack in his first spring game AB.
  20. I would like to see the projections for Buchholz and Masterson, and I'm even more interested in the rationale behind them. Because these two have been so up and down that to me they are almost completely unpredictable. They have been very good and they have been abysmal. Joe Kelly is also very hard to predict. Porcello should be good and I'm cautiously optimistic about Miley as well. Optimism is there, but I can't see feeling comfortable. Our depth is also a huge unknown.
  21. I agree with a lot of that. But if the rotation fails Ben is going to be very heavily criticized in many quarters, and many of the analysts will be right there to explain the errors in judgment he made. I'm not trying to go all iortiz here about the rotation, but I have to admit I'm not feeling very comfortable about it, nor about the depth behind it. It's going to be interesting, that's for sure.
  22. One thing that people forget about Remy is in that 1978 playoff game with the Yankees, if the Red Sox had won he would have been one of the heroes. He had a sac bunt in the 6th that led to a run, he doubled in the 8th off Gossage and then he singled off Gossage in the 9th.
  23. I am really on the fence about this starting rotation. If they're good enough to get us to the playoffs, then hats off to Cherington. But if they they're as bad as some of the naysayers believe, he's going to take a lot of heat, and I'm not sure there will be a valid defense. This rotation is his baby.
  24. Sure doesn't take long for injuries to kick in.
  25. I've had the same problems yesterday and today, but it seems fine right now.
