  1. In some cases eyewitness testimony is 100% accurate. As with many things there's a whole range of outcomes, right? And 700hitter is obviously right when he says that organized criminals take care to prevent it.
  2. DNA turned into an incredibly expensive, time-consuming and confusing mess in the OJ trial. Critics of the prosecution said they should have relied more on easily grasped things, like OJ's joyride in the Bronco, and less on DNA.
  3. Dominated may not have been the exactly right word. But 108 wins is a pretty high number.
  4. 7 division titles in a row is very impressive. But 4 of them came with 91 or 92 wins, so the competition wasn't the grestest.
  5. I have warm memories of 4 rings now. And DVD sets to match.
  6. If the Astros win this year, it will be 4 rings in a row for teams that dominated in the regular season.
  7. I'm with you except it's a 1 in 8 chance for the non-Wild Card teams.
  8. I wonder how recent that research is.
  9. Maybe the training and conditioning units as well. And stop acquiring so many human hulks.
  10. I used to think the playoffs are a total crapshoot but I'm not so sure now. There has to be a reason the A's, Twins and Braves have tons of playoff appearances over the last 20+ years but no rings-not even close, really. While the Red Sox have 4 rings.
  11. Yes and no, because the Nats did make a bunch of moves to try to bolster their pen. One of them, Hudson, has been outstanding.
  12. Red Sox and Yankee fans hating each others' teams is not a bad thing, as long as those emotions are confined to things like trash talk on forums like this. If you don't at least dislike the Yankees, why are you happy they lost?
  13. Plus, it remains to be seen how long the Dodgers can keep up the run they're on.
  14. Yep. It's as simple as that.
  15. Putting Wright in to run there was definitely Neuronic.
  16. You just pointed out two of the things the Red Sox had to overcome in beating the Astros last year.
  17. No, he's been posting. Give the guy a break.
  18. I want to see living proof of it.
  19. I keep bringing up Theo because: -Most people agree he's the best or one of the best. -The Cubs are one of the big payroll teams like us. -The Cubs had a great farm, like us, and now they don't, like us. -Like you said, Theo has operated a lot like Dombrowski starting in 2016.
  20. I'll take an anticlimactic World Series win over a heartbreaking World Series loss any day.
  21. Of course. Any arguments to the contrary are just silly, frankly.
  22. I do believe that 'bright lights' pressure is a real thing too. So do the Yankees, apparently - they traded Sonny Gray because of his exorbitant ERA in Yankee Stadium.
  23. What about the pressure on a guy just trying to hang on in the big leagues and knowing there isn't much waiting for him after his baseball career ends? And guessing that one or two more 0-fers might trigger a DFA? Different kinds of pressure.
  24. My argument is that there are different kinds of pressure. I think we sometimes try to simplify things too much.
  25. The Yankees have tied a record with 4 straight LCS losses.
