  1. Yeah but wins are a team accomplishment. Manning would have probably done just as good if not better than Brady with BB as coach and the all-world D the Pats featured during Brady's heyday.
  2. That's not a sound argument. Palodios' is better.
  3. Based on what? Give me just one sound argument for it and i'll be quick to concede.
  4. Served with what? Brady's not the best QB ever. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.
  5. Right back at ya.
  6. Brady is top 5 all-time, but he isn't even better than Manning.
  7. I'm a Pats fan too, and i consider that the homerriffic post of the year. As for Hassan, MVP is right in his assessment, although he can certainly handle the stick against lefties.
  8. You are discounting the snowball effect an eventual Buccholz injury would have on the rotation. Your best bet is to keep both Lackey and Workman and deal from a position of organizational strength down in the lower minors like 3B/C/SP.
  9. I like Santana, but i wouldn't trade Lackey for him as it would significantly cripple the Sox' rotation for both 14 and 15.
  10. WAR accounts for park factors.
  11. So Fred, the numbers clearly don't agree with your "expert" assessment. Maybe it's because you really don't know what you're talking about? Food for thought.
  12. Fred clearly doesn't know what he's talking about, but he's content trying to convince us that he does.
  13. Just like with Webster and RDLR, just because you saw a guy from "your area" a couple times doesn't mean you know what you're talking about. Like in this case, when you're clearly spouting a load of bull. Also, get your own catchphrase.
  14. The Marlins, Seattle and the Rockies are the three teams currently discussing Napoli beside the Red Sox. None of them should be able to outbid the Sox for his services, so Fred should sleep soundly unless one of them offers something insane.
  15. At least spell it correctly.....
  16. If he's not going to catch long term, Santana is not worth it to the Red Sox, unless he could transition to 3rd, which i doubt.
  17. I could literally not be less surprised.
  18. No, this is a load of bull. I am disagreeing with you because prior to his knee injury scouts graded him as a much better defender than Salty. I have provided my rationale as to why Hanigan would be my ideal backstop, but in the event that someone else trades for him i would rather have Santana who is (depending on how much his knee injury affected him) superior to Salty in both aspects of the game. You're the one who doesn't very much know what he's talking about. Honest question: Would you rather have Salty than Santana?
  19. Except that this is never how it works. You're not accounting for the possibility of injury/sudden decline/changes in overall offensive standards. It's almost impossible for Cano to remain healthy/productive/elite for all those years. For all you criticized the Pedroia signing, because of his skillset and the overall dollar value of the contract (both in real terms and reasonable projections based on FG's dollar value) he's much more likely to live up to his contract than the stupid one (and it's going to be a hell of a lot smaller than 10/310) Cano eventually gets.
  20. This makes little sense. The Sox don't have to tie themselves up by overpaying for anyone. Just because you have money doesn't mean you have to overpay in money or prospects who, even though they "don't always pan out" have an intrinsic value because of they possibility that they may. And for the record, there's as much risk on going for the "proven veteran" as their is in going for the younger, cheaper alternative. The proven veteran route led to 2012, as Lucchino so eloquently stated when reminded of the Crawford, Gonzalez and Beckett flops in an interview the other day. Now, this doesn't mean that if they find a good upgrade on a deal that makes sense they shouldn't do it, but they should avoid throwing money/prospects all over the place lest they screw up the good thing they have going on right now.
  21. Which is why Fangraphs creates their own dollar value for players based on their performance. WAR and actual player salaries obviously have no correlation.
  22. Yeah but Cano really damaged his own market with his stupid demands. Even if he wasn't going to leave NY, he won't even be able to make them bid against themselves, as they usually do. There will be no mystery team, since no one's going to even bid when his demands are so retarded.
  23. Get Hanigan plz
