  1. ...and of course, the fact that they're in the media spotlight (relatively famous dad) magnifies whatever screw-up they might commit because, hey, media!
  2. And WMB is still here.
  3. rj, do you have kids or have you taken care of one for a prolonged period of time? I don't mean this as a way to discount your opinion, i ask this because until you've been in charge of a child it's very hard to understand just how little control you have over their actions overall. I'd be quicker to pass judgement if there was specific evidence against Remy for his kids' actions, or if they weren't adults. There's a reason why the law doesn't hold parents accountable for the actions of their adult kids.
  4. He's not very good at the whole "common sense" thing. Don't waste your typing fingers.
  5. Who cares that Soriano can hit 30 HR's if he can't get on base? Power without on-base ability is like a pair of huge biceps on a figure skater. Your point about Beltran is nonsense. His knee issues are chronic and he's missed time for them on a near-yearly basis. He's not making it up. Gardner is very good, period, but he's playing LF even though he's a better CF than Ellsbury, who has his own question marks. Take off the rose-colored glasses. Oh, and "LOL X 3"
  6. If they can both play a full season, which is more of a certainty with Gardner than it is with Ellsbury.
  7. 475 million to just over 100 million is still quite a significant difference though.
  8. Again, do you need a shovel so you can dig yourself a deeper hole iortiz? That is exactly what you're saying.
  9. The point CAN'T BE MADE without the Peavy factor, since that's the guy Iglesias was traded for. Also, it would take a miracle for Iggy to put up a .750 OPS with that weak walk rate and power. He's still a very valuable player based on D alone though.
  10. Then what the hell were you arguing about? WTF?
  11. Iglesias was hitting when he he left? He had a .464 OPS in July and was sucking balls when he was traded. These things take five seconds to check so you can avoid saying something untrue.
  12. Man that .586 OPS would certainly been a huge upgrade even if you consider the key mishaps Iggy had during the postseason. That argument makes no sense.
  13. You're welcome. I'll be here all night.
  14. The 2003 edition scored more runs, and had a better wOBA, wRC+ and OPS+. They're close, but the 2003 offense was better. They were both historically bad (2004 even more so) on defense.
  15. 2003 team should have won it all. It's an excellent example of how much impact a manager has on the game for those who say they have none.
  16. Ooooh burn
  17. No no. It's Teddy Bear. And i wonder where i can get my very own iortiz. That's a very well-trained puppy dog!
  18. Oh, and on topic: http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2011/10/the-myth-of-the-home-run-that-drove-an-angels-pitcher-to-suicide/247447/ A different take on Donnie Moore's problems and his tragic story.
  19. The funny thing is that MVP and I stopped replying like two pages ago. LOL
  20. You don't know Jacko and his constant contradictions like we do. Stick to Haiku.
  21. But you could see improvement from Verlander, Porcello, the BP and the defensive s***-show they were in 2013.
  22. Case in point.
  23. He can talk for himself.
  24. The funny part about that is that i'm pretty sure i recall you defending Cano's in-game focus and concentration to death in a prior thread. Now that he's gone though.....
  25. Man you gotta give it to the Teddy Bear....he's not lacking in either confidence or stubbornness. That is usually a winning combination.
