  1. I am not making any assumptions other than Henry became distracted by crooked Cora's cheating and this has clouded his judgment. The people who are making the assumptions are those who believe Bloom will be able to make full use of this budget flexibility to best advantage to compensate for the loss of the best player not named Trout. The people who are making assumptions are those who believe without any supporting evidence other than his pre injury performance that an amoral injured player with a now a history of back trouble and extraordinarily poor judgment, immaturity and a history of not running out balls in play can make a meaningful contribution to this club over the next five years. Character counts. And besides everything else there are serious questions about this kids character which can only be resolved by his performance over the next few months. Knowing this I believe it was negligence on Bloom's part to trade Betts for this kid as any part of the package.
  2. Bloom and Henry screwed up on Price as I said months ago. They so devalued him that they literally couldn't give him away. They should have made a concerted effort to trade him as soon as possible instead they dithered. I make no assumptions. What I am saying is they shouldn't have traded Betts at all unless they got exactly what they needed. Instead Bloom got hosed by his former boss because Boston essentially gave him away for an amoral immature injured player with a record of not giving 100% and poor judgment. Everyone is convinced that Verdugo is going to bounce back from an injury that caused him to miss the last two months of the season and they are hoping he may be able to play by April. Even if he is ready to play by then you know they are going to baby him for the next month because if he goes down with another back injury Red Sox Nation will be clamoring for Bloom's scalp. Henry and Bloom misplayed this whole mess from the outset. In fairness, I think crooked Cora getting caught up by the Astros and possibly Boston cheating scandal has so distracted Henry and his minions that they haven't been thinking clearly for months.
  3. You poor soul! Fire your lawyer!
  4. No I am not. Stop putting words in my mouth. I am on record for not trading Betts unless or until the Sox were out of contention this year. I am on record on not giving up their best baseball asset unless they got the bone fide pitching prospects or starting pitching they needed if they were going to make a trade prior to the trading deadline. I am against giving up the 2020 season without competing. That is what I am on the record for. All the rest is just quiters rationalizing a bad deal by a new GM who got schooled by his mentor and former boss.
  5. Saying he didn't is just dumber. And trading the best player in baseball not named Trout for a morally challenged immature player with a bad back and a history of not giving 100% effort and bad judgment is the dumbest of it all.
  6. This one he'll of a way to begin Spring Training. And they still have no idea on whether there will be sanctions.
  7. I wasn't. I like Maine but according to Bert and I "You can't get there from here." " Eh !Yup!"
  8. Why would anyone willingly want to move Illinois.
  9. Oh I forgot to add Bloom still got hosed.
  10. I believe the Twins made that exact claim against the Red Sox that they violated HIPPA.
  11. The average total state tax burden in Mass on a a median household is over $9, 000 per year. It makes it one of the more heavily taxed states despite its flat 5 per cent income tax rate. Whereas Delaware whose income tax is 6.05% percent higher than Mass has no state sales tax. Sussex County Delaware one of the state's three counties which has Delaware's most expensive communities typically has some the lowest real estate taxes in the United States. It is not uncommon for a $400,000 home to pay less than $1200 a year in property tax. The average state and local taxe burden here is only about $4000 per year. This why so many people are moving here from New York New Jersey and Conn.
  12. You would have a much better argument if this guy was actually playing. Moreover you have no idea when he will actually begin to play. Finally no one knows once he is cleared to play whether he will be told to take it easy and given periods of prolonged rest. So until all these things happen you are just assuming that Verdugo will be the player he was before he was injured. Statistically speaking since players who spend extended periods on the DL/IL have a higher incidence of returning to the IL than those who have never been on the IL, that is one MASSIVE ASSUMPTION. Until Verdugo actually gets on a baseball diamond you have no evidence to support any contention that he can play the game at the level he once did.
  13. You would want to know how the fracture happened so you do not do again what caused it the first place. Secondly like I wrote before most stress fractures clear up in 6 to 8 weeks was injured in August. Thirdly the Sox medical staff has never misdiagnosed any player in the past no never not one no never. Yah right.
  14. Laugh now but I would wait until this all plays out before I would dismiss it so lightly. Most stress fractures reportedly clear up in 6 to 8 weeks. This guy was injured back in August.
  15. The question should be how did he get the stress fracture.
  16. OMG! Sorry to hear that,
  17. As someone who used to live in Maryland and drive into Baltimore at least monthly shithole doesn't begin to describe the city. Friend of mine moved back into the city two years ago to a house a couple of blocks from the ballpark that he has owned since the 70s. After being mugged twice outside his home. He moved back to Hagerstown.
  18. No it wssn't. He could have done better by being more deliberate. Face it the Dodgers saw him coming and took advantage of him.
  19. Like I thought you know s*** about Baltimore and Orioles.
  20. On this board only but not the only one to be sure.
  21. I do not think the Dodgers are worried about their inability to resign Betts. Moreover that hardly constitutes a hard deadline an advantage but not a deadline.
  22. No I making the statement that the deal Bloom made was a bad one because his former boss took advantage of him.
  23. No there was not a hard deadline. The only deadline was the trading deadline.
  24. Oh you're the expert on what the Orioles know. Have ever been to Cambden Yards or old Memorial Stadium. Have you ever read the Baltimore Sun or seen MASN Do yo know where EUTAW street is
