  1. Yes, let's also hope this bad taste clears out all the Pink Hats and Scenesters... I think it's fair to say the honeymoon is done and dusted for Henry and Co. Time for Sox fans to get angry. First point of order: I propose we start booing "Sweet Caroline"
  2. No wonder why Beltre and Martinez left last year. They saw first hand the dumb sh*t going on in the clubhouse with these Hee Haw huckleberries.
  3. Occupy Yawkey Way!
  4. Yep, it is infuriating. I always forgave Beckett's smug arrogance, because he was our player, and he was good. Now he can f*ck right off.
  5. A gimpy Youk, an aging Papi, a big question mark over Crawford, mediocre bats in Reddick, Salty and Scutaro...and can Ellsbury replicate the year he just had? Who knows? We should be able to bank on Pedroia batting .300 with 20 HR's....Gonzo batting .325 with hopefully more HR's....It would be nice to see Papi hit like he did again, but who knows? The lineup looked a lot better last preseason with a shiny new Carl Crawford batting second. As for the pitching, well, collectively, it's middle of the road, with a core of guys who apparently don't give a s***. That's a problem.

  7. The cynical bastard in me says the Rays and Yankees are better, the Jays are about to spend some money and contend for the wildcard, and the Orioles aren't scared of us anymore. If there is any team in the AL East on the decline, it's us.
  8. (For obvious reasons) Edit: See below
  9. Possibly the greatest sports documentary ever made....enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yd5amEEVLgk
  10. If the brass are floating phony pill addiction stories to the press, it's just inexcusable. Something tells me LL has his fingerprints on this one....he's their attack dog, anyway. What a calamity this is. And what's up with the $300 headphones? They're total clowns for doing that, the players must have been pissing themselves. I guess the bottom line seems to be that the inmates ran the asylum, and none of the lightweights upstairs had the balls to reign them in. And the lack of player accountability or even desire sullies the good name of the ball club. Wow. Things got real bad around here real fast.
  11. The pill popping thing is disturbing....clearly libelous if not true, so therefore we can assume it's true..... So a pill popping manager, booze swilling slobs in the clubhouse playing Grand Theft Auto while the rest of the team is on the field, the team MVP not wanting anything to do with the scumbag huckleberries surrounding him, a God-fearing first baseman who couldn't be bothered to step up to the figurative plate, a "Captain" in name only, a smattering of veterans who mailed it in at the end showing no pride at all....most of us play baseball or softball to RELAX after a 40-80 work week at a REAL job. And these scrubs complain about a doubleheader? TOTAL DISGRACE
  12. That said, I think Crawford can still come good. Maybe with a season here under his belt, a new regime in, etc., will take some of the spotlight off of him, and he'll relax more. Next year will tell the tale, though. If he sucks again, he's gonna suck the rest of the way through his contract.
  13. I think half their reasoning was to take him away from a division rival. He'd burn us on the base path all the time. Weak justification for the kind of deal he got, though.
  14. Tip of the hat to Theo for doing his part. But it was probably time to go, along with Tito. Too bad we can't clear out all the scrubs wasting space in the locker room. Good luck on the North Side, Theo.
  15. I was being sarcastic
  16. You're a Yankee fan?
  17. I scored a disappointing 108/200. I missed a few glaringly obvious ones, got a few obscure ones...but man, you forget just how many players come and go....
  18. Can you name the Red Sox starting rosters from 1991-2010? http://www.sporcle.com/games/lineupquizzes/RedSox
  19. Keep him in the bullpen.
  20. This is the eerie abandoned Braves Field one-
  21. Pretty cool photos in this montage-
  22. It was advertised as the "Biggest Ballpark in the World", which seems a stretch, when I've seen photos, and an eerie silent home movie I found on Youtube filmed the year after they left town. I'll try to find it and link it. It did have a very unique front facade, not brick, but white stucco, or something.
  23. How weird would that be, having 2 ball clubs within one mile of each other? Along what lines would the fandom break down? Were the Braves always considered the smaller club? More blue collar? Does anyone have any stories from their grandparents about that era? I have to admit, it would be pretty wild with 2 clubs in town....
