  1. Must be feeling kind of lonely over at Boras headquarters these days. Although the word is that Ellls is committed to Boras and that he enjoys a solid relationship with his agent....as in....they are on the same page.
  2. Although I am not sure if you are taking exception to the way Fred has criticized Ace or if it is more about criticizing him in the first place, it is not one appearance. In the first place Ace's reputation is to put in a good year to year and a half and then turn into a royal pain in the ass who carries his s*** with him everywhere including the mound. That is what he did in NY and it looks like the same pattern here. He is a card carrying dick-head, a few sandwiches short of a full picnic. In the second place at the end of last year he completely gave up. If you watched how he pitched at the end of last year, that is what giving up and giving in looks like for a pitcher. He just threw in the towel and rolled meatball after meatball right down main street as if straight as an arrow FB's regardless of their velo were going to beat anybody. They promptly got deposited, as they should have. So I no longer buy the tough guy argument. He is as tough as the school yard bully that just needs to get whacked across the mouth to cave. 2011 was part of the grace period Ace usually allows you before he hits you with the real Ace. The shame if it is that if he could kept his head screwed on straight and did not carry his ******** out onto the mound with him, he would likely be a valuable asset for somebody for more than one season at a time.
  3. So SFF did the Post have a photo of Girardi and his goffy ears wondering what the hell his going to do next?
  4. Ellsbury's power is dependent on perfect health. The only times he has exhibited home run capability is when he is in perfect health and can employ his optimum swing. He must hit the ball perfectly to get it out unlike true power hitters that can simply muscle the ball out of the park. When they hit is perfect, it lands in another zip code. Unfortunately, Ells is rarely in perfect health.
  5. I almost wish I got the NY Post. I would not be surprised to see those big goofy Girardi ears right on the back page with a big "clueless" question mark next to them.
  6. It it were not for idiot Ace, the Yanks would have been lucky to put up another two spot tonight. Girardi looks like the see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil monkeys all in one, post game. He "likes" the Yankee at bats tonight..yup....good luck with that Joe.
  7. Really interesting watching Hanrahan. He did not crank it ST and had not seen much of him in Pitts. But when he first started pumping 96-97, the ball was flat...no movement and even Cervelli looked dangerously like he was going to drive one fair for a hit. Once he got warmed up he was still at about 96-97 but the ball had movement on it. Wonder if that is just how he throws....takes a few pitches to get that heater moving someplace.
  8. Who the hell is scoring this game...some New York Post *******. That was a hit. Put the jerk in front of that ball that exploded in front of Nunez and see if he could handle it.
  9. Took a nice cut at that one Napoli
  10. I have had about all of that ******* I can take for one lifetime. Get him the f*** outta' here before he favors us with more of his meatballs down main street.
  11. If Buch loses this guy he's gone I think.
  12. New name for Napoli is Stumpy. Hell of a stretch Stumpy. Did ya' see how far in hole Iggy went for that thing?
  13. Pedey's timing...as usual impeccable on grabbing the catcher before he landed on his head. Anything to RF in this ball park has a shot, which is why I picked Salty for one of my first home run guys.
  14. That was a strike anywhere...Hafner has to be blind to think that was ball 4. He gave up on it.
  15. Salty so wanted to go yard on that one.
  16. Don't know why Nunez held that. Looked like he would have had Napoli.
  17. Stewart just does not look like a catcher. Looks like the Tin man meets Icabod Crane.
  18. Salty....do you really think Buch wants to throw it right down Main Street? So why put the target there?
  19. Geez that RF porch is an embarrassment. WMB just flicked that out to the warning track.
  20. As I said yesterday, I think we have to wait for Toronto to see what is what. Talk to Yankee fans and they say things like "Jeter expected back in less than two weeks. Tex expected back beginning May." Media is reporting nothing like that. Tex may be gone for season and Jeter is maybe mid May I think Granderson must be mid season or something worse. So I wonder if they will try something radical. So far it is has been try to play Yankee baseball hoping guys like Cano and Youk and Nix can play the rolls that Granderson and Tex and to some extent Jeter play and I just don't see it. I think they will lose buckets of games trying to play this way and may regardless of what they do. This looks embarrassing though and Girardi is not exactly a genius for ingenuity.
  21. Depending on right hand or LH pitcher I predict Napoli or Salty. Napoli to go hitless until finally hitting a dinger or Salty taking advantage of the NY short right field porch.
  22. Smoke spotted over NY. Hal Stienbenner's head just exploded.
  23. While WMB's splits are not bad the sample size is pretty small. At this early stage of his career, late last year RH pitchers knew he would struggle with sliders on the outer third. I suspect Farrell knows it as well. Conversely Salty bats from the Left side better than the right side as a switch hitter. I suspect WMB will improve. He is still really young and pretty aggressive as a hitter.
  24. Funny game baseball. Napoli can't buy a hit so far....Salty can't make an out.
  25. There's the Salty dinger swing
