  1. The only thing bothering me about JD so far is that he is just meat to anything that breaks. Here he gets up in the count 3-1 and swings at a 3-1 curve ball that was not even a strike that he simply had no chance to hit. That sets him up at 3-2 where he swings at another curve that his bat never got close to hitting. He should be standing at 1st base with a walk right now and instead he is walking back to the dugout.
  2. The pen is the real question mark on this team and its not insignificant. Anytime Cora will have to reach into in earlier than the 7th inning it will be an issue. As for the everyday player...I would not be looking to move any of them unless somebody wants to make me an offer I can't refuse. We are now into the 2018 championship season. There are so many injuries during the course of one championship season that all these players we are worried about will get playing time. Plus, do we really want to rid ourselves of the enigma that is JBJ? Who would want to get rid of a guy that goes from flat terrible to wildly on fire at the plate, back and forth like JBJ does while being a simply superb CFer. Do you really want to be doomed to a season of Beni in CF and JD in LF. I don't!
  3. The difference between this team taking aggressive AB's, and hacking at good hitters pitches instead of sleeping standing up in the batters box for two strikes is night and day.
  4. Our guys seem pretty happy about not playing in 12 degrees
  5. Thank God. You can't be a reliable 8th inning guy walking a batter in the inning. Just not forgivable and its Barnes calling card.
  6. Oh for God sake. I so wanted to congratulate Barnes for a good inning but no....walks in front of Manny.
  7. If they keep him fresh through the year he can really be a plus for this pen. Farrell buried him last year and did it early.
  8. Geez it looks miserable out there.
  9. What are the O's going to do for pitching this year? I can't believe they let themselves into the season with this bunch.
  10. Another day of Sox baseball....yeah!!!!
  11. Just having tillman back as a starter sort of tells the Baltimore story I think.
  12. I have got to say, this team has so much more fun playing for Cora than they had playing for Farrell.
  13. I can't believe Porcello had such command tonight of his entire arsenal. Just a constant stream of perfect pitches.
  14. This was a truly impressive performance by Porcello tonight. Probably the most impressive of any starter so far this year given conditions and a wait.
  15. Wow porcello not missing with anything
  16. That was pretty funny. Devers did not take a single pitch in that AB.
  17. Porcello doing a really good job in these conditions.
  18. Yanks look awfully discombobulated. Wonder if the NY papers are already blaming this on Boone.
  19. There will be a good many bad AB's with this home plate ump. Nobody knows what to expect for a strike zone.
  20. it was still obviously still riding inside when it hit him. I am assuming he was trying to throw it inside off the plate. So you have to give him two inches off the inside edge. So he was 6-7 inches off the inside edge and if that missed his wrist it would even have been farther off the plate hitting him in the torso.
  21. I don't know what this ump is going to call. I would have not been surprised to see the 2-0 to JBJ called a strike
  22. If that missed his wrist, it would have hit him dead in the side since it was still riding in when it hit him. That would have been a miss of about a foot!
  23. It did not deserve warnings. I agree with that. But it did not slip out of his hand either. Just a bad bad miss.
