  1. There.... strike 1 in this inning was actually a pitcher's pitch. Took eddie what three innings to throw 1?
  2. Eddie has been up in counts 0-2 on at least two hitters in this game...maybe 3. Still ended up in the usual Eddie pickle. I would be pulling my hair out on the bench. I couldn't take it. I swear I would go out there and kick him right in the knee and tell him to hobble over to the bench and go sit down!
  3. A pitcher has to have enough confidence in the movement on his pitches to actually throw with the intention that the hitter is going to hit the ball ....INTO AN OUT!!! Unless you are a true flametrower..you can't throw like this. The thing that kills me at this point.....Erod has enough pitches now. He appears to have at least enough confidence in them to throw them...but he won't throw them with the confidence that the movement on the ball with take the ball off the barrel of the hitter's bat. If he is not going to do that then it will just an endless season of games just like this...ONLY WORSE. Remember...these are the Rays!!!!
  4. Who cares about 6 K's vs 7K's OB. ERod has utterly screwed up this entire inning.
  5. Ridiculous.....utterly fiasco
  6. Geez ERod...at this rate the pitching coach is going to go out there and kick him in the knee just to get him outta' there! Gotta be frustrating to watch from the bench
  7. This team should not struggle for power the way last year's team did. Even when Pedey comes back IMO, Mookie is the 1 hitter on this team. Beni is the guy who is going to move if he is struggling when Pedey gets back.
  8. That was an idiotic walk ERod...idiotic
  9. Oh for God sake ERos...good example here with this hitter
  10. I don't think I have ever seen another pitcher that is NOT dominant that the fielders literally can go out in the field and fold out a lawn chair. They may not win a game ERod pitches. But they won't need their gloves out there either.
  11. Well he is throwing 4 pitches now and at least for him, fairly confidently. You would have never seen Erod doing that on a knee brace on his landing leg. He has to be willing to trust that the movement on his pitches is good enough to let the hitters put balls in play. THAT is what is still going to take some getting used to for ERod.
  12. When the knee cap moves the way his moved, the trauma it causes as it moves is just too much. When he first injured it in a Red Sox uni I knew he was headed to surgery and said so. I was OK (sort of) with letting him play out that season on a brace. But they had a golden opportunity to address it in that off season and didn't. What does he do...comes out and caves the knee warming up in the bullpen for God sake! Struggles through that season I guess because Farrell was trying to save his job. Anyway the entire way that injury was handled was a cluster. Never should have happened the way it did. The entire time from the first injury in a Red Sox uni to the operation was a waste.
  13. No question ERod should have gone away from the FB two pitches earlier than he did. ERod is as we know not going to have confidence in three pitches in the 1st inning at this point. Hopefully he gets there. Knee really set him back and I am still not happy with the way the knee injury was handled by ANYBODY.
  14. That was a terrific sequence by Vaz and Erod on Gomez who was starting to time that FB. They went away from it just in time to punch him out. Gomez, not happy.
  15. I don't see a knee brace on that wounded knee. So Eddie is flying free
  16. Get em' ERod
  17. Out to left....pulled out to the last row of the monster seats.
  18. Perhaps he had not seen the pitchers he was seeing in his first games back here. He was clearly expecting to see more FB's in FB counts than he was getting. Hitters get more FB's in FB counts in the NL. This is the league of Kluber.
  19. JD is the guy who is going to be just fine IMO as he acclimates to the pitching sequences in the AL.
  20. Clearly Jerry and OB are easily "fascinated".
  21. Kiermaier "under the weather" today. Anybody that believes that Kiermaier under the weather is anything more than an off Friday in Boston and a bit too much of a party is living a fantasy.
  22. So far he hasn't hit it hard that often and a whole lot of them have landed in the glove of a guy that did not have to move an inch. I hate the shift.
  23. Geez the league seems to have JBJ figured out. Even when he hits it, its right into the shift and an out.
  24. XB looks a bit wider than I have seen him in a uni ever. I know he worked on his speed last off season. Maybe he bulked up this off season. He definitely looks wider.
  25. Atta boy XB
