Wow I can be pretty critical. But even I am stunned at this offense tonight against this pitcher.

That was a horrible pitch to a LH batter from a LH pitcher. That is why LH pitchers did not throw that pitch to LH batters for many years. If you make that mistake there is a pretty good chance that pitch is going somewhere.

Lynn has been horrid and we have one run. Walks JBJ into the top of the order.

That was a real gem of a pitch to Kepler.

Wore it a good part of last year. Frankly I think he has worn it more than he has not.

I really thought even than that 95 wins was a play-in game. I hate the play-in game and will only take if that is all I can get.

Both together would have made about 3/4 of a real hitter this year. Not sure either would have made a significant impact at the plate. Pedey would surely have an impact in the field.

Well that is sort of the issue. We have a grand total of two hitters you can depend on to do some damage regardless of whether we face a LH or RH pitcher and then a punch of guys that will fill in the offense around them depending on the pitcher. But if those two guy are not getting it done or even if one of them is not getting it done, we are offense challenged. That is why Remy and OB are calling for more small ball. It is suddenly dawning on them that this offense needs to find some other ways to score.

Could be just his timing. If he should not be out there, the Sox are playing with fire. If that turns into an oblique strain its goodbye Mookie for another month at least.

That said, we get two walks in the inning and need a botched play to score 1 run. Lynn is abysmal tonight and we have done nothing with him really.

Pitchers have found a bit of a hole on JD this road trip. I expect JD notices it even more than we do. He works very hard at his game. I expect he will figure it out

I agree. I don't think Castillo is a solution to anything here in 2018.

Beltre could be worthwhile and if he is easy to grab....why not. If for no other reason than to help Devers. I would not see that as a critical move. But I would see it as a nice move. We would not have our eyes further assaulted by Swihart for one thing.

Other than stiffening the pen which everybody does because they can before deadline, I think their done. Too much evidence that they are done testing the lux tax further than they have, too little to use as trade chips. Nasty combination unless you are looking for some pen help. Heck even there given the number of starters teams usually use post season these days, some of the added pen help is probably already on this team. Is there the chance they are stuck in a play-in game?. There absolutely is and I hate it. One of these days it will dawn on the business managers of baseball that they are denigrating the value of the 162 when a team can win over 90 games and ends up in a 1 game play-in. Why should I fork over my $40-$100 a seat to watch one of these 162 gems, these beauties MLB pushes out there.

They have been throwing this game from the start of it. Somebody needs to check if the whole team has bet the game in Vegas.

I would beg us to notice how much more focused the stupid twinkies look at the plate than most of the guys we are sending up there. This has had the look of inevitability about it all night and you could just count this inning as looking the most inevitable of all of them. We waste another Sale start in the process. This time against the Twins. Cora needs to stop dicking around as the team notices that he is taking tonight as seriously as they are ...as in not at all.
