  1. You could maybe consider pitching around Betts with two outs because you make a force at every base and take your chances with Beni. But with only one out now you have two runners on and the LH hitter coming up. You are just begging for a rally against with only one inning left to try to come back. They had no choice particularly since the RH hitters have done absolutely nothing against Nola.
  2. And that is why Psycho will never be a manager for anybody. Nola could not just put Betts on with a LH hitter right behind him.
  3. Best pitch mookie has seen to hit all night hit foul
  4. We need another screw up in the Phillies fielding
  5. Here we go LH hitting corp
  6. The Sox approach is to develop hitting and buy pitching. Been that way for awhile now. So as a pitcher, if you are young and any good there is a pretty good chance the Sox will trade you away if they drafted you in the first place. Just the way it is.
  7. The erstwhile moderator checks in to stick a dagger through our hearts.
  8. Price Change has got the hitters really frustrated and they are swinging early in counts to avoid it. I would bring him out for the 8th for that reason.
  9. Now what is the excuse for walking half way to the Sox dugout after that swing by the Philly hitter. That just makes no sense and the umps should just not allow that crap.
  10. Our RH hitting corp is just getting mowed down. Nunny's should have been an out. LH hitters have got to get something done here.
  11. Price has it going.
  12. I actually think Psycho got something right for a change. Herrera was too concerned about getting the DP although JBJ was so far away from first, Herrera could have rolled it to 1st and gotten him out.
  13. Heck of a play in CF
  14. Price is hanging in there. But you can never tell with him. He looks like he is cruising and suddenly he is pumping pitches right down main st and its bing bang bong...see ya'
  15. So OK Steve and OB, suddenly all hitters are Ted Williams and David Ortiz....If you are going to make an argument at least make one that makes sense.
  16. What are you talking about Psycho. "That could have been a ball"...yea as a bad call!
  17. That one fooled the ump
  18. I agree that we will see consistently better pitching in the post season than we ever were going to see in this particular regular season. Nola is kinda' unique though. That Slurve is not something you see too often. Nola is just showing the FB. He has not even thrown that for strikes at 93+ and he isn't throwing his Change that much YET. If his Change is even decent ....good night. We have to hope that Slurve flattens out. We are not going to hit it if he keeps throwing it like that.
  19. No idea how you hit that pitch.
  20. Imagine how many guys would have just thrown home instead of running at the baserunner.
  21. That was the best baseball play by the Sox infield this year.
  22. I don't know how you hit that Slurve at all and if he can actually throw a Change without making it a lollypop. I can see why this guy is tough.
  23. This Nola is another guy I would be taking bugs bunny swings at
  24. Rats..this guy can throw and they are not the kinda' pitches that make you say, "well I will get him second time through". More the kind that make you say "I can't hit that"
  25. Geez that is a bad location for a Change
