  1. Look where Sevarino is pitching Mookie, one of the best inside pitch hitters in the game and Sevarino STILL won't give him pitches out over the plate.
  2. Yea two earned in the first 4 innings of the game. Where do you think Price is going with that?
  3. See what pitching outside to the LH hitters does. If that pitch to Sandy was inside...its doink...over the RF fence.
  4. He is probably working on a ERA of 5 tonight when you consider he is not even into the tough innings yet. So I would not be all that ready to anoint anything he is doing tonight. He just can't pitch here IMO.
  5. So is that enough now? Does anybody really think Price can pitch in this place....EVER?
  6. And seeing what JD did in that AB is what separates some of the Yankee RH hitters that are used to hitting in this place and a guy like JD. So OK...JD gets a base hit out of that. If he picked on a pitch on the outer half just a bit up in the zone he just doinks the ball right over the RF fence.
  7. You CANNOT pitch LH hitters inside here and you CANNOT pitch RH hitters outside here. Half their RH hitters actually aim for that stupid RF fence and their LH hitters really don't even have to aim for it. So a pitcher has to challenge the RH hitters all night long and he has to keep the ball away from the LH hitters all night long. If you have Greg Maddox control you can do it....if not, then not.
  8. Its not that hard to get it out over the LF fence either. The walls all the way around are too short except dead in the power allies and CF where the walls are the same height but there is at least some depth from LCF to RCF. If you can pull to LF and doink to RF you should hit a zillion HR's here.
  9. I don't like walks. Had Price not walked guys on, he would have been out of the inning before the Nunez error. Its impossible to completely absolve Price for that inning. That said, Morton did exactly the same thing in exactly the same situation. Worse actually...but you can see your pitcher just trying to figure out how the heck he is going to survive this place if a hitter can just doink the ball out on that kind of a pitch. THAT is what makes this place so damn dangerous and so frustrating. Pitchers have to be mentally tough as nails in this place. Heck whole teams have to be mentally tough as nails to play the Yankees in this place.
  10. Mookie has no HR's this month??? If he can't hit one even out over the LF wall in this place, we got problems.
  11. Look at Price out there. My hand doesn't feel right. Thats it....its my hand. He is fine as a pitcher all the way up until something goes wrong and then he seems to fall apart before your very eyes. But I can't deny that Morton fell apart exactly the same way when that Frazier HR went over the Stadium RF wall.
  12. Remember that HR Todd Frazier hit off of I think Morton in the Houston/NY Post season series and it stunned Morton so much to see that ball leave over the wall in Yankee stadium RF that Morton was done for the night...just done in the 3rd inning no less. The entire Houston team was done because that was a Yankee RH hitter just doinking the ball over the RF fence and the Houston RH hitters (it was and is mainly a RH hitting team) looked at each other and said, "We can't do that. We don't swing like that." I think that is what just happened to Price and is likely what happened to Price when he got creamed in this place last time. All it takes is that one doink shot and your pitcher can turn to jello before your eyes. And that error should just about do Price in.
  13. Either that was a small fly or a big gnat. But it wasn't a big fly. Still worth a run in this dump.
  14. Another pop up leave Yankee RF. Any idea how short of our fence that can-a-corn is...I would say 15-20' anyway.
  15. Cora does have to keep experimenting with pen sequences until he finds something he has confidence in...hasn't found it yet and I do not envy him his task.
  16. I see the pen has hit my established mark of a run tallied for every out AGAIN. "Pen of Pain" is starting to grow on me a bit. They come in, do their "gotta' give up at least a run for an out thing and then Kelly comes in to plunk somebody starting a bench brawl. I don't think I can much argue with Pen of Pain.
  17. You've outdone yourself again.
  18. I see the pen of pain is about its business as usual.
  19. If anybody is wondering, the day game in NY today has been rescheduled to 7:00 tonight.
  20. His walks immediately upon entering a game should be a major concern especially in the post season. What he does in the regular season really does not matter that much to me. I would still content that if we see Wright late in games in the post season it would still just be an indicator of our weak pen.
  21. I don't remember Wake too often walking guys around to second base before the ball stopped headed to the backstop and there is nobody like Hoyt. Also check Hoyt and Wake for post season saves. Hoyt had 1 in 1954, three years into his career and Wake had none. Isn't that what we are really talking about here....Wright late in games in the post season? Still sounds like insanity and a very last resort to me.
  22. Bruce did something we won't see good teams do against Wright if he is in late as a relief pitcher. Everybody is going to wait to see if Wright can throw strikes. If Bruce had just left the bat on his shoulders he would be on 1st with nobody out.
  23. Cora is just asking to talk himself into some insanely stupid post season move with Wright late in tight post season games. Just stop Alex...please just stop.
  24. Terrific job manufacturing runs today
  25. I swear to f***ing God, how do you come into the game in the 8th, tied and give up a walk to a same handed batter? How do you do that!
