  1. That's right OB, Chavis is batting .319 for his last 9 games including about 3 infield dribblers and STILL cannot hit a FB to save his life.
  2. Ever notice X wants to challenge everything
  3. Hey there is an idea for the O's in September. They can promote Crab Cake Festival Extravaganza's for 30,000 plus with the extra added feature that a baseball game might break out during the Festival.
  4. If I am not mistaken, they are mistaken. I think the call was running inside the baseline....way inside the baseline. You don't have to mug an infielder while you are way out of the baseline to be called for it. When out of the baseline you are inherently "interfering" with the play on the field because you are not where you are supposed to be.
  5. IMO Davis's problem is that the pitchers are throwing waaaaayyyy too many breaking pitches now for that rocking chair swing of his. That is as much a timing swing as I have ever seen. You will never see Chris Davis now or then being able to keep the bat back when he is fooled and make something of it. He just cannot time the breaking stuff and has lost so much confidence now, I just don't think he is able to hit anything.
  6. Last year the O's could not hit, could not pitch and could not field. So far, I don't see a dif other than MAYBE a little better pitching....microscopically better.
  7. Pitcher did not even have the excuse of throwing to 2nd from the mound on that one. Just heaved a shot put to 2nd base.
  8. THAT looked like a high school infield....maybe even JV.
  9. X was all over this guy. Eventually scared out of throwing X a strike.
  10. Here I guess Cora wanted to turn Villar around.
  11. That was NOT impressive.
  12. Absolutely certain he would not throw a FB 3-2. Not a good thing to be that obvious
  13. Wonder if Cora is trying to work Brewer up the ladder from early and multiple innings to late and single innings. Plus this IS the O's. I actually do not want to even think about what there attendance will be late this season especially when NFL gets going. Have to admit, I don't like where Swararyn is leaving some of these pitches.
  14. Well walks are bad but dingers are worse. For all the hooks BJ has thrown he has not hung any yet.
  15. 1. Mookie Betts ® RF 2. Christian Vazquez ® C 3. J.D. Martinez ® LF 4. Rafael Devers (L) 3B 5. Xander Bogaerts ® SS 6. Michael Chavis ® 1B 7. Jackie Bradley Jr. (L) CF 8. Eduardo Nunez ® DH 9. Marco Hernandez (L) 2B 1. Hanser Alberto ® 3B 2. Trey Mancini ® RF 3. Pedro Severino ® C 4. Renato Nunez ® DH 5. Anthony Santander (S) LF 6. Jonathan Villar (S) 2B 7. Chris Davis (L) 1B 8. Keon Broxton ® CF 9. Richie Martin ® SS Well this could be a tough day for the forum. HOWEVER I have to say I have more confidence in our mainly RH lineup especially v a LH pitcher than I have in our more balanced lineup facing a RH pitcher. I have no confidence of note in our LH hitters hitting a LH pitcher of merit.
  16. I don't think Davis could time a curve if you gave him 100 swings and he does not seem willing to even swing at a FB. Never seen a guy with his reputation so caught in the middle with another 3+ years of misery for the O's ahead.
  17. That much is true and I have also noticed. But hard to call THIS one of those instances. When Sale actually blows up...he really blows up. There is no recovering after the opponent gets two runs. Its more like the opponent knocks him entirely out of the game with a 4 run splurge and Sale completely incapable of ending the inning.
  18. Honest to God what does Sale have to do. You just can't pitch better than this, not really, not consistently, not with how the game is played today.
  19. Can't argue with that.
  20. Talk about a fast half inning. Well I guess its wait for the O's pen to show up before we get any runs.
  21. Total number of teams OVER has come down steadily year by year. I think your numbers are optimistic if you are thinking it is not the equivalent of a cap. We WILL have a year when nobody goes over. Its inevitable at this rate....that is unless the next CBA changes stuff around. The owners won't get caught COLLUDING this time around either to use a rather popular word in political circles these days.
  22. Santandere strikes himself out. Great job by Sale coming back in the AB. Damned if I don't shorten that guys name every time I try to spell it.
  23. The usual sterling run support for Sale I see. Worth pointing out that teams are generally lining up one of their better pitchers to pitch against Sale. Even wihen the team is the O's that guy tends to pound us senseless. Is it any wonder that when we face a team with two or three really good pitchers, we tend to be in over our heads.
  24. Not sure the O's have a choice on Davis other than somehow hope he comes back to something remotely representing a ML player as they are paying him not $10M per or $15M per or even $20M per but north of $20M per. At some point, especially if you are a team like the O's you just don't have a choice. The way the Lux tax is now calculated and used it is effectively a salary cap. All you have to do is look at the number of teams now willing to breech it and the degree to which even those teams are willing to breech it. So if you are the O's, you can't go over and you can't sit a guy like Davis. They literally don't have a choice. The next CBA should be real interesting.
  25. Another pitcher trying to throw a slider for a strike to Chavis. Gotta' be the dumbest thing a pitcher could possibly do. Will the O's be able to keep their losses to 100 on the season or is 110 more likely. We better sweep these bums.
