  1. There is no practical way to do it. The Sox are going to wait for JD to get hot before they move him around. The Sox might trade Mookie off between the 1 hole and the 2 hole. But that is as far as that is going to go. If there was a practical way to do it with this team and this lineup, frankly I would not give a rats behind about the bottom of the order. If you can't bunch hits, you don't score enough as we have already seen on multiple occasions. There is just no way to do it here. One thing I would surely do is that any time Chavis is considered for the 6 hole in the order....NOPE....Vaz would be there in my order. Pearce when he comes back would not find himself ahead of Vaz in my order either.
  2. It's really sort of shame that there is no real consistent way to move Vaz up in the order. As I pointed out the other night, this year X and Vaz are far and away the best same handed hitters we have, (in their case meaning hitting v RH pitchers). Bunching hits is often about having your best same handed hitters mixed with the off handed hitters such that they gets hits on top of hits.

  4. Yup, take every win we can get at this point.
  5. Scary thought: They go to Baltimore and play DOWN to the competition.
  6. Apparently the infield did not back up quite far enough. I am getting really frustrated....OBVIOUSLY!
  7. I usually do not post the lineups if somebody has put up the Sox lineup. But it does help to have a quick reference to the opposing lineup when it gets to relief pitcher time as the only real way to judge what Cora might or should do is to know who is coming to the plate as well as how the pitcher on the mound is pitching. 1. Shin-Soo Choo (L) DH 2. Delino DeShields ® CF 3. Elvis Andrus ® SS 4. Hunter Pence ® LF 5. Asdrubal Cabrera (S) 3B 6. Danny Santana (S) RF 7. Logan Forsythe ® 1B 8. Rougned Odor (L) 2B 9. 8. Generally speaking, Goalies in Stanley Cup Finals have to play out of their mind for their team to win. But the Bruins just got outplayed all over the ice last night. Binnington absolutely did keep the Bruins at bay for the usual first 10 minute home team burst. After that the Blues simply outplayed us everywhere 5 on 5 and that was that.
  9. Somehow I have to think the board would have liked to see us win this on a hit or even a sac fly.
  10. Home plate ump must have Bruins tickets. The 0-0 to Chavis was about as much a strike as there is. OK...come on....get this done Sox
  11. Gotta get this done this inning.
  12. So that is an example of why I would not have wanted Work facing Cabrera. Need hard stuff to get Cabrera out in a pinch and Rick was much more capable of that than even a fresh Work. Notice that even though Barnes has a serious Curve, he went after Cabrera with all hard stuff.
  13. Great idea Alex. Geez were you thinking they didn't have a RH relief pitcher out there.
  14. Worth pointing out AGAIN that we only turned our usual mighty 2 runs going into the late innings into a mighty 3 runs. Same handed pitching certainly is more apt to get same handed hitting out. But the Sox have turned that into a mantra for the season. Our guys have been getting pummeled by same handed pitching all season. The L/R/L/R orders also contribute to our inability to bunch hits since we can't hit same handed pitching for snot except for one guy....the X man.....maybe Vaz a little bit.
  15. Cabrera follows Pence in the order. I would NOT have wanted Work facing Cabrera especially with one on and nobody out. OK with Work facing Guzman especially with two out with Odor on. Rick would have been the better choice for Cabrera with Pence on and by a mile.
  16. If Pence gets on and Cora brings in Work I am going to lose my mind.
  17. Oh no...Bucket in the fry-o-lator
  18. Hopefully Cora still believes in stretching his starters because this appears to be a day when it is truly warranted.
  19. Beni 3, the Rangers 2. I guess I will take it. 3 is still better than 2....but not by much with the Bucket-0-bums waiting in the wings.
  20. Said it last night...I don't like what Mookie is swinging at, don't like what it apparently has done to what was a very compact swing and don't like what he is taking.
  21. Some runs this inning would be a nice change from what has become far too familiar, a mighty 2 runs headed into the late innings, handing the ball to our bucket-0-bums bullpen.
  22. I don't think your lead off hitter "sacrificing" himself for the baserunner in that way makes much sense. If he steals it he steals it. If Mookie took a proper swing fine, but he didn't. He took a half hearted piece of trash swing which really does not make much sense from a guy you have at the top of your order.
  23. Guzman has not looked good all day, certainly not running.
  24. Good job Rafi
