  1. It's Rivera, the hitters aren't going up there trying to hit home runs. If Rivera had his typical location and movement, which you've acknowledged he was lacking both of, he would not have given up 4 hits and gotten bailed out on a line drive that likely would have plated the winning run. Just look at where he was throwing the ball. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/cache/location.php-pitchSel=121250&game=gid_2011_07_24_oakmlb_nyamlb_1&batterX=&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=.gif
  2. If Aceves had come in an out earlier he would have got the save.
  3. The first hit was definitely legit. It was a straight fastball left right down the middle that was by Cano by the time he got over there. The only hit that possibly could have been turned into an out was the second one that Cano got to but couldn't glove but that would have taken a tremendous play. It looked like batting practice. Mo was grooving pitches and they weren't cutting. I get that he's Mo, but there's no need to get personal over the fact that he looked bad today.
  4. Those were not typical Mo cutters. They caught way more of the plate and cut a lot less than he intended. Go check out where Martin was setting up and where the pitches ended up.
  5. No, he was terrible. Everything was straight and he wasn't hitting his locations. All of the hits against him were legit and the hardest hit ball of the inning was probably the line drive down the line that got him out of the jam.
  6. Mo really looked terrible, everything was straight. He was throwing batting practice and got bailed out on a screaming line drive down the line that probably would have plated the go-ahead run.
  7. Mo looked terrible today. He gave up 4 hits before getting bailed out on a screaming line drive down the first base line with the bases loaded that Teixeira caught and doubled off the runner on first. That was nearly his 5th blown save.
  8. Go make another account so you can talk some more about how it's only a matter of time before the Yankees are in first.
  9. I got a friendly PM stating he's had at least 3.
  10. Anyone else humored by earlier posts in this game thread pointing out how much Gonzalez and Reddick are struggling?
  11. And only a homer would say that the Yankees have locked up the wild card race with 40% of the season to go. Consider the source.
  12. How many user names have you used?
  13. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaadrian! #83
  14. If we hold on, we'll be on pace to win 102 and a half games
  15. I'm fine with it too. I don't want Beltran and his old knees trying to patrol right field in Fenway.
  16. I'm not impressed by Colon's start. We'll see how he does against a team that can actually hold a bat and take a pitch outside the strike zone. Who am I?
  17. My cat puked, I went to clean it up and when I got back we were up 10-3. Does that make my cat puking good luck?
  18. That's the first time I've ever seen that work.
  19. Yankees up 6-2. Probably won't pick up another game today.
  20. Crawford's hitting .367 since coming off the DL.
  21. That'll be a web gem. Just got Pedroia.
  22. Yeah, him and A-Rod were made for each other. Remember when he yelled "I got it!" as he was running behind the third baseman in Toronto?
