    I would have no problem with Bautista winning the award. IMO the award should go to the best player in their league. A player shouldn't be penalized because they're on a bad team because chances are if they were on a better team, their numbers would also be better.

    Granderson AVG - .275 (35th) OBP - .367 (18th) Hits - 118 (23rd) Doubles - 18 (62nd) Walks - 59 (10th) He's a shoe in!

    In the history of the award, only 3 players have hit .275 or lower and won the award. One was Roger Marris in 1961, one was Zoilo Versalles in 1965 who hit .273/.319/.462 but lead his league on total bases and the other was Yogi Berra in 1955. So unless Granderson sets a new MLB record for home runs, leads his league in total bases or is a catcher, he's not winning.

    Mo gives up another home run. Remember when I pointed out how his cutter looked flat 2 or 3 weeks ago and everyone disagreed and said he just had bad luck? EDIT - Since that appearance he's given up 6 ER in 6.2 innings.

    For as much crap as Girardi gets in this thread, what the announcers are saying about him right now really is true. Girardi does a great job of managing the bullpen. Without a legitimate set up man most of the year last year the Yankees record when leading after 7 innings was ridiculous. I think they lost something like 2 or 3 games.

    The Angels couldn't have handed the Yankees the game any more than that. An error on the most routine of plays should have ended the inning and Cano hits a grand slam the next at bat.

    I didn't say they did. Chances are he's hurt if they pinch ran with him with the backup catcher who is even slower.

    That means he was ranked a better power prospect than that much more hyped catcher at the same level.

    That's true. Teixeira has nearly twice as many home runs at home as he does on the road. Apply that to Gonzo's stats and he'd have over 30.
