    Pedroia bails him out. Through 2 innings, the Mariners have had 5 outs to work with with the bases loaded and have scored only 3 runs. That could be important later. Hopefully this will come down to the other pitcher simply sucking less, as it did in Lackey's last start against Sabathia.

    We should just start every Mariners inning with the bases loaded and save a lot of time.

    Not to make excuses for these guys, it's a tie game right now. But there's something about playing here that doesn't agree with this team. Maybe it's the long flight, the laid back atmosphere, the late start times or all of the above but we should be a lot better than 14-19 against these guys the last six years in this park considering the teams they've had.

    Umpires! Get yer upmires! Hickox is behind the plate and he's a slight hitter's umpire. Nothing like McClelland though.

    This is why a Yankees fan should not discuss Red Sox prospects. Not only are they not familiar with the system but they let their bias run wild with the subjective aspects of talent evaluation.

    I love how when the Rays hit a home run to right, the Yankees announcers talk about how well the ball's carrying out there lately but when the Yankees hit them they don't say anything.

    It's always nice to come home to the Yankees losing. This is the only pitching matchup in this series that favors the Yankees, if they don't rally they could be looking at a sweep.
