  1. I'll take those numbers. His CS has gone down, but it is worth noting the percentages here. From what I see, last year could be a sign of things to come. Doing the math in my head, his percentage in 2011 was just over 33%, in 2012 it was just under 50%, 2013 was the same, but with significantly less time played. Last year it was around 20%. Like you said, teams aren't increasing their SB attempts, and the teams that we are going to play the most aren't going to run much. The Rays never run, the Yankees only have Gardner, whose speed I think is overrated, and the O's will probably be right in the middle of the league if not below. The Blue Jays will definitely want to run, which is a concern, especially the way guys like Buchholz pitch with men on. But overall, I feel it is a manageable hole. Good defense with pitching at the level we want to see will easily overcome the tendency to allow guys to steal.
  2. I'm interested, and looking to kick you old guys around.
  3. It's worth the risk to bring Swihart up now, even if it is early. The way you're looking at it, they'll be two veteran catchers on the team. Two catchers who (presumably, since someone else would be picked up) are decent offensively, decent defensively, but have a hard time throwing out guys at 2nd. I see this as a perfect opportunity for Swihart to develop. He doesn't need to play everyday, as Hanigan is a viable option to play 3-4 times a week, or more, and can really show Swihart how to work with this shaky rotation that we got going.
  4. Both of the CT teams are out, so I've lost interest. Would be nice to see RIT in the Frozen Four.
  5. He is on pace for a good year. He seems like one of those guys who has great stuff every other year, and mediocre stuff in between.
  6. I can't imagine the Sox without Fenway. It would take 20 years or so for me to get used to.
  7. I hear that a lot. People think I'm a Seahawks bandwagoner, but I'm rooting for them out of my natural hate for the Pats.
  8. Here I am!!! Go Gang Green, and I don't mean the disease.
  9. That accurately represents my problems with CSN. Now I'm sure I wouldn't mind them if they were the regional network of one of my teams, but since they aren't I can dis them. I love National TV games, especially ESPN and CBS, almost regardless of the sport. They have the best announcers and the graphics that these small networks don't. I've grown up in the age of being able to watch almost any game I want at a given time because of how sports TV has evolved. This is never a problem in the NFL, and the Red Sox have one of the best regional TV networks (other than YES, I'm afraid), so it's never been a real problem. But let's use that Ohio market for example. They have CSN for Jackets games, STO for Guardians games, and Fox Sports Ohio for Reds and Cavs games. That's too many. At least be like NESN and consolidate it with two sports or more so that you have more revenue and can compete with ESPN in terms of viewing experience (graphics, picture, etc..).
  10. I love all these moves, but: a. Now I need a new avatar. b. It still completely baffles me how different this rotation is. If you had told me after the 2013 WS that Clay would be the only one left, I would have cried. Remember that I grew up watching Lester. To think that he is gone for good hurts me the most. I like Porcello, and Masterson even more than that. I wasn't even 10 when he was traded before, so I didn't understand the business side of it. Here I sit now, 6 years later, as a 16 year old, a HS ballplayer, and see another fond face of my childhood, but unlike the others, he's with us. I've been watching D-Back's games since 2013, in large part because AJ Pollock still stays in touch with my HS coach. Therefore, I've seen Miley, and I know what he can do, but I haven't come to love him just yet. As for Porcello, he's the closest we could've realistically got to Scherzer. They really bring up their pitchers well out there in Dey-Twah.
  11. Terrible news. I watched him hit that HR thinking that he was the next McCutchen or something.
  12. Go Royals! I'm giddy that they embarrassed the O's like that. One thing is for sure: the whole country will be pulling for them in the WS.
  13. I'm right on all my predictions so far. Let's go KC!!!!!
  14. AL: Royals over A's O's over Dey-Twah Angels walk off in game 5 to beat KC O's over Angels in 7 NL: Giants over Pirates Dodgers over Cards Giants over Nats Dodgers over Giants in 7 WS: Dodgers over O's
  15. I always loved Jeter, as some of you guys know. I can't imagine life without him.
  16. This, my friends, is the joy of Thunder mojo.
  17. Yeah I have a little man crush on Cecchini
  18. Clay has the best AVG on the team. If I recall correctly, he had one AB in Atlanta on the Memorial Day game that he sucked in, but the Sox came back to win and snap the 10 game losing streak.
  19. Welcome to the bigs Rusney Castillo! This is the sole reason why we are going Thunder mojo tonight. On the hill, we'll see Buchholz (8-8, 5.19) against Francisco Liriano (5-10, 3.53). Hopefully, tonight will be the start of the long reign of a predominantly Cuban Red Sox outfield.
  20. I love interleague games. Haven't watched a game since football season began, but I'll turn it on for a while tonight.
  21. Okay. I believe someone said I could make a GT once the Sox were mathmatically eliminated.
  22. I did an auction draft with some friends and accidentally spent most of my money on Brady. So my team is f***ed, but I do have Peterson, Kaepernick, Chris Johnson, Dwayne Bowe, and Matt Patricia's defense. I'm slowly making my team better with trades.
  23. JBJ will slowly crawl into a hole and die after the Red Sox trade him and Middlebrooks.
  24. I am starting to fall in love with Vazquez. Best offensive catcher we've had in a while, and his defense is spot on as well.
  25. True. His effect on Ortiz is more than obvious as well.
