  1. That was last year. This year is a clean slate.
  2. I'm not sure how to react to this.
  3. Uh-oh. Not a good start to my fantasy season. Classic Cubs though.
  4. For the record, I would have been a supporter of a BTR GT.
  5. I just meant that no one was complaining about the Sox home opener even after Boston's once in a lifetime winter.
  6. Chicago has been warmer than Boston the last few weeks...
  7. I didn't realize that. Don't worry, I'll use my skills wisely.
  8. I can hardly wait any longer for this. For the record, I made this thread in 2013, the only time I made it, and there was a World Series victory as a result by our beloved Red Sox. Tomorrow night, people, we begin. Jonny Boy takes the mound for those Beloved Cubbies, who are mightily rejuvenated, and ready to blow it in the final months. In comes those perennial World Series contenders the Cardinals, led by Adam Wainwright. 8:05 PM First Pitch on ESPN2.
  9. Agreed. This should be fun. I really like my team, a700's, yours, and Pal's a lot, a sign of plenty of competition. Your autopicks stole a couple of guys that I had my eyes on, like Yan Gomes, Samardzija, and Wacha.
  10. May I just say that I absolutely love my team? I feel like we're very well-rounded. I missed out on a few catchers that I wanted, but it's all good.
  11. So, I finally caught myself watching my first live ST action last night, and the first play I saw was Weeks' error in the 9th. Not a good sign.
  12. If anyone takes any of the players on my "Reserved Players" list (i.e guys I have connections to), you can expect to see trade requests as soon as the draft is over.
  13. a700 is the commish, so PM him.
  14. No. We're at 9, since we're losing SFoC.
  15. It's Yahoo. I made a Yahoo account solely for this league, so if you don't already have one, I think you can do it too.
  16. 8 teams is fine with me, as is the new draft time of Friday at 8.
  17. I miss Ross as well, but rather than Quintana, I would like to see Jose Molina instead of Leon. In terms, of skills, Leon is probably a tad better, but Molina always makes me laugh because he looks like he's terrifies when he comes to bad. I call him Scared Guy.
  18. Too bad we only have 2 series with them each season. If they were in the division, we would rack up 14-15 wins against them per year.
  19. Today proved to me that Monday in Philly can't come soon enough...
  20. That's the dumbest thing I've seen in sports since Amar'e Stoudemire hurt himself punching a fire extinguisher a few years back in the NBA Playoffs.
  21. Well, I'm in high school, so my opinion might not count for much. In CT, things are split right down the middle between Sox and Yanks. My town is in the East Central part of the state, so it leans just a bit toward the Red Sox. But nonetheless, there are some female Yankee fans that are worth "going through that struggle" for. I suspect many of them are bandwagons, so if they still claim themselves to be Yankees fans at the end of the season, I would gain some respect for them.
  22. I'm off from school Friday, but will be somewhere in the afternoon. Saturday is fine for me. Sunday is iffy.
  23. This should be fun. I haven't done fantasy baseball in a few years, because I'm usually away at camp for a spell. I've outgrown camps now, so I'll be working, and look forward to bringing some youth to this league. My only concern is that I might be unavailable for the schedule draft time on Thursday night. It's not a big issue, though.
  24. I agree with everything you said there, Fred, except for the Porcello part. It would be a major slap in the face of Buchholz if a new guy was given the right to start on Opening Day over him. It says something that Buchholz is the only guy from the 2014 rotation that we kept after all of those trades last July. Any confidence and morale that he has gained because of that, and after rehabbing the injury would be lost, and we would almost certainly be in for one of those crapshoot seasons for him again. I've always had a soft spot for Clay, since is no-hitter is the first game that I really remember seeing (don't recall watching '04 playoffs, just hearing about them), and the kid in me (still a large presence) hates to see any long lasting Red Sox player fall, get traded, released, DFA'd, etc... I still believe in him, but he is fragile. Even though Porcello is better, it's not worth it to hurt his newfound confidence by placing Porcello over him.
  25. When have we ever had a backup catcher who can? Ross's occasional HR the last two years don't count.
