  1. That one felt good. It's a HR from HR!
  2. Good play by Holt. If Panda's playing, that's a double
  3. Gotta think he's already the odd man out when the rotation goes back to 5 next week.
  4. No, we won the Angels series thanks to my in-game mojo.
  5. If it does, it's your fault that we were in last place last year, with that bet we made.
  6. I'd like to think the same thing, ma'am.
  7. I'll stop it once we lose again. Don't want to mess with anything.
  8. I'm making the thread now. I'm going out later, and I'm not sure if I'll be back in time for the game. So, here we go. It's safe to say that in the eyes of many, the Oakland Athletics will always be known as The Moneyballers, or just Moneyball. Billy Beane will forever be confused with Brad Pitt. But that's okay. This year, the system is not working out well. The team is mediocre, and buried in "50 feet of crap" (as he says in the movie) below the rest of the AL West (except Seattle). They got rid of everybody that meant anything to them: Donaldson, Cespedes, Lester, Samardzija, Moss, Norris, you name it. Now, they are left with Lawrie, Vogt, and Reddick, as well as a bunch of young no names that can't do jack s*** just yet, including Marcus Semen. Not only is the team mediocre, their Moneyball methods are now mediocre. Have you heard of the way in which the Sox scouted Mookie? They showed up at his high school, took him out of his lunch period, and had him take a diagnostic test to see if he was mentally prepared for big league situations. So, yeah, let's go. RHP Jesse "Not the guy they named Chavez Ravine after" Chavez (2-5, 2.11) vs RHP Broseph Kelly, Jr. (1-4, 5.83)
  9. Woah.... Betances gave up a run. Still got the save though.
  10. So, something about Wade Miley and Thunder just go together. Thunder mojo is responsible for two of his better starts on the year, that shutout @ Tampa in April, and tonight. Also, my at the game mojo gave him an 8 inning gem two weeks ago Sunday.
  11. Water! Score one for Thunder!
  12. Farrell was like: Let's make our own switch pitcher. Lefty: Miley, Righty: Taz. Suck it, Oakland
  13. I'm watching Gameday right now, and this is what the hand change looked like on here: EDIT: Whoops, not a good picture
  14. He switched hands! That's awesome!
  15. Speaking of Beane, I have a few ideas for the name of tomorrow's GT, assuming we hold on here.
  16. You know you suck when Lawrie is your best player... Or is it Reddick? Nah, it's Vogt. I think my point is clear.
  17. They were just making a good point on the TV broadcast. We're lucky that we're in a terrible division. We're still in it. The A's are already buried, far behind Houston and LA.
  18. Why do things always go wrong in the 5th?
  19. No, I was just driven over the line by the constant bitching, so I reacted a little inappropriately, but Fred took it way too far.
  20. Actually, I think I said it first.
  21. Thanks, not just to you, but to everybody, but I'm not being bullied. I constantly get teased because of the things I saw about myself. Other people just tack on, and some times it goes too far. Yesterday, I just had a bad day. It's not bullying. Don't think I'm vulnerable or sensitive.
  22. Pablo is not in the lineup tonight. Good. Give him some time off.
  23. What's up, my man? Haven't heard from you in awhile.
  24. Well, most of Oakland has their eyes on their beloved Golden State Warriors, who are 3 wins away from an NBA Championship. That means that this game should be a breeze, right? I'm feeling unusually confident about this one, more confident than I usually feel after a tough loss like the one yesterday. Who cares that the A's are hot? They are still 10 games below .500. We need to roll over them this weekend, and get some momentum going. If we do it, no one on the West Coast will notice. They'll be too busy watching Steph Curry single-handedly cause LeBron to question the meaning of life. So... Let's go. Our starting pitching has been great in every game since Sunday. That's something, right? LHP Scott Kazmir (2-3, 3.93) vs LHP Wade Miley (4-5, 4.97)
  25. I love it too. I'm not bullied, it's just teasing. I shake it off easily, and even make fun of myself sometimes, which makes everyone feel better. Please don't get the impression that I'm being "bullied."
