  1. Worst as a designated closer
  2. On the bright side, Andrew Miller just blew his first save of the season.
  3. And Taz is now tied for the worst save percentage of all time.
  4. I love his name, but Hechavarria's AB here is too damn long.
  5. Ichiro: Certified Red Sox killer. Taz: Certified Eric Gagne-like closer.
  6. This Marlins team has to be the Red Sox in disguise. I've never seen a team struggle more than the Sox in terms of getting the big RBI hit.
  7. Thank God for NL rules!
  8. Actually, I meant 1453, the year Gutenberg invented the Printing Press, the year the Ottomans overthrew the Byzantine Empire, the year the plague made its way into Europe via the city of Caffa, and the year the Hundred Years' War came to and end. Man, seems like yesterday. The time sure does fly.
  9. Well, as we all know, we need someone. I'd say it's at least worth an offer.
  10. It's also the first time they've been swept at home by the Blue Jays since 1776.
  11. Why not us?
  12. Well, they've scored 4 runs in the last 5 games, so that might have had something to do with it, meaning it was obvious how cold the bats had gotten and they were trying to swing themselves out of it. They may have also been intimidated by the Jays. At this point, I'd be shocked to find anyone NOT intimidated by the Jays.
  13. The fact that we're now last in the AL emphasizes the point of having too many problems to handle.
  14. That is the biggest roast I've seen all summer... Wow. Shots fired.
  15. I hate the people who make GTs 2 days early.
  16. I'm not rooting for the Jays by any means, but am curious to see the playoff environment in the Rogers Centre. They rarely sellout, and it's still pretty loud.
  17. Either JBJ is having the best game of his life or he's getting hot. With our luck, this is a one time performance.
  18. Yeah. Did you see the play last night when he waited for Simon to run to first to cover the bag on a routine grounder? That's laziness at its finest.
  19. I've never seen the Yankees look this much like the Red Sox.
  20. JBJ homer? What is this madness?
  21. No. This is a stupid idea. You can't put ER in the pen. I would rather see Porcello out there than ER. I like the Kimbrel and Shileds idea as a backup for when Koji begins to slow down. I also like the idea of Zimermann. I don't want Reddick, and Billy Beane has gotten awfully stubborn of late. It would be nice to get a power lefty bat in Davis to hit behind Ortiz, but I have some concerns. I don't think he fits Fenway, and it becomes easier for LHPs to come out of the pen late in the game. I would put Hanley before Davis, but of course, all of this is hypothetical.
  22. I'd say he had a pretty good game. He's the greatest clutch hitter of our generation. Relax.
  23. There's nothing better than seeing this:
  24. Is it me or is Papi catching fire?
  25. I've been impressed by Miley so far.
