  1. I have never seen Jacko pissed off like this... I can't imagine if you had Lackey in your team. For us 3 ERs through 5 IP is like a miracle.
  2. I'm not sure what is Theo's WAR these days but I'd make the deal in a heartbeat.
  5. During the games, huh! Unbelievable.
  6. Sure, but in order to understand some situations you need to understand the business side of the them, like Theo's case. Professional sports are business. There's no other way to look at them. Sure, we can debate about sabermetrics or whatever you want but at some point you will consider the business side as well. Look at the threads. Theo's case is actually pretty simple. He hasn't delivered results the last three years, and it's why his head is in jeopardy.
  7. This is not true. I've worked and attended several American and non American transnational companies and if the numbers go wrong, the main responsible is the Main Director/CEO/GM etc. They often walk. Sure, the half of the staff go as well or till the new chief in command arrives and brings his new staff.
  8. Nah... GMs always bear the whole accountability of the business, for good or for bad. Always.
  9. A lot of "luck-thing" "good intentions", "ifs" and "excuses". The results are there. Move on, Theo is the main responsible, if you can't see that you should research what is the role of a GM in an organization and how they are rated and evaluated.
  10. I know that you like the OPS thing and the Sabermetric stuff, but in this case it doesn't matter how you split those stats. This team achieved zero results the last 3 years, ZERO. Organizations don't live and breath from the past, trust me. They move on, and if you no longer deliver results, you go, as simple as that. Hell, how much money did he spend? and how much money did this team lose by not making the POs the last 3 years? Seems like the balance is not favorable according with his expected KPIs given by the owners vs the outcome (last 3 years). I wouldn't be surprise if JH doesn't understand about sabermetrics. What He understands and very well is about financial metrics and concepts like NPV/IRR/ROI/cash flow etc. Seems like the owners are not comfortable how these metrics look like lately. As i said, a GM doesn't take a portion of accountability when things go good or bad but ALL of it. This is how Organizations work. This is not a matter of good intentions or feelings but results. If the owners are letting him talk with the Cubs, it's pretty clear that they realized that the gap between good intentions and expected outcome can't be borne anymore and as a result they are making his exit easier. If he he succeed there, good for him and the Cubs, but this team needs fresh blood. This ain't personal but strictly business.
  11. That's the problem. You need to understand that a GM/CEO/Main Director or whatever you wanna call a head of an organization doesn't take a portion of accountability when things go good or bad, but full of it. That's how organizations work. GMs assume full consequences of their decisions. This is not a matter of "Good Intentions" but results. His good or bad KPIs are measured and supported by results, not by "Good Intentions". This is how business run. I know that you don't like the "result" approach, but this is how business and life works, and you have to realize that. It's worthless talk about accountability without talk about consequences. He had the opportunity to right the ship the last three years with PLENTY access to money. He couldn't. When the gap between a business plan and a expected result can't meet each other over and over and over again, you have to look and pursuit other directions. We'll be fine E1. Don't worry about who could come. A lot of young talented professionals with great management skills are out there.
  12. 1000000% Agree. Sorry, but after this disaster and tendency of failures, I really don't understand why people are still defending players, coaches and administrative people that clearly have been hurting this team. I really don't understand. It's great to be optimistic, but another is to be blinded by cheap RS marketing. Just like SCM said, this team needs to sweep the house from the top to the bottom. It's time that some take and assume accountability and the most important, accept consequences.
  13. So... We are screwed in the farm as well, great legacy Theo.... dammit! .
  14. Tienes buen espa?ol Reck.
  15. Agree... And please, build our pitching depth and BP and bring at least a SP. All healthy and in shape.
