  1. If we land a man, that man will be Jackson IMO. Signs say that Oswalt wants to avoid in every possible way to sign with Boston, even making less money.
  2. Interesting the timing. First, a tweet about Oswalt (1:33 p.m.). An hour later, a tweet about Jackson. Maybe Ben is making pressure on both or Oswalt already refused the offer and Ben went to Jackson.
  3. Sign Jackson for 2 years could work it out. Maybe 16-18/2 Y.
  4. This. We haven't had a team like this recently. Hopefully this year we avoid this regard.
  5. I ranked our team in the #5-#6 in the AL. if we land a SP, I see our team in the #3-#4 in the AL. The AL seems very competitive next season. I'm very excited.
  6. Great post. I completely share this point of view. As always, you put it in a clear and objective perspective. BTW Jackson is likely the front runner according with ESPNDEPORTES (Guillermo Rojas). Seems like Oswalt won't land in Boston. Jung's theory is probably in effect. We'll see how it ends, though.
  7. If I pay a guy 200/9 (FA) I want to examine him first, you bet. Or does it only apply for trades?
  8. True. I have read some reporters saying that. They say that we are looking an everyday SS. If true, I want to believe that they have everything figured out and will bring the SP as well.
  9. Jacko, can they examine a FA before he is signed?
  10. Btw... Did Youk go to surgery or not? The last thing I remember was that he needed surgey or something.
  11. Ohhhh... I see. Yes, the tweet says that they are making him medical exams. I got you. Maybe this is ********
  12. Yup, apparently he is in Boston and they are saying that they see great possibilities that he lands in Boston. Earlier I posted that they wanted a everyday SS, so.... I guess all this (Scu/Ramirez) has been being cooked for a while, we'll see.
  13. IMO the board is running well. Of course, it has had its ups and downs, but I think that as long as we respect each other beyond our opinions (agree/disagree), everything will be just fine.
  14. Well, he is a career 4.0 ERA pitcher, regardless he has been HEALTHY, under 3.5 last four years and has put 190+ IP the last three season. I got your concerns, but I see on him a decent 4-4.5 ERA in a very viable scenario with a great upside. And who knows? if he makes the necesary adjustments he will improve those concerns.
  15. My rank would be: 1 Tex 2 NY 3 LAA 4 DET 5 BOS/Rays If we sign the SP, IMO we will take the #3 or #4.
  16. I see a very competitive AL at this point, but IMO and considering this move, DET is definitely in the top tier.
  17. Very Welcome to Talksox Alex.
  18. Wandy would be a solid #4 SP. We do not need more.
  19. BTW beyond Oswalt's health/ physical conditioning, what I would have liked about this move is that we wouldn't give up prospects.
  20. If Wandy puts (4-4.5) I"ll be pleased.
