Yup. Going like this, we will likely be an unbalanced team again. A solid offense and huge question marks in pitching. IMO.

I do not share this. With this perspective, you reduce your possibilities. You need to monitor other divisions as well, look.. 1. Current Division scenario. You need to beat NY and TB and who knows? TOR could be a surprise. Today, I see NY above us and TB maybe is at the same level. 2. Current WC scenario. The other oportunity would be the wild card. You will likely compete with LAA, TB and probably another unknown team. (on paper, of course) I would base my strategy in both, 1. try to win the division (unlikely today) and as plan B win the WC (likely). Once in the PO, you never know.

I've been saying that we are a 5-6 team in the AL right now. On the other hand if we bring the SP, I see our team ending (3-4). I've been saying that the AL next year will be very competitive and even 1-3 wins could make the difference between go/no-go to the POs, and this SP could give us that kind of improvement (1-3). Going like this, we almost do not have margin of error. If one of our 1-3 hurts/underperform we will be in serious trouble. But again, that is only how I see the things, hopefully I'm wrong.

Yup, one thing is on paper and another thing is what is going to happen in reality, nobody is disputing the opposite. I do not find out my argument weak.

Mike and Fred are great guys, I bet that if Fred join us in July, Mike and him will be very good friends, and who knows? Probably he could teach us some nicknames.

mmm... Let's say that he goes to STL and he performs solid. How long/much could be this future-contract? How old is he?... He announced his retirement a month ago, didn't he?...sox and STL already offered 5 M (according with media) and now he just refused 10 M?... c'mon! My point is... Out there are a lot of contradictions about Oswalt.

That's the problem with this guy, reason why he has had a lot of problems with several posters. Hell, I have agreed with him a lot of times as well, and he has great ideas but he is kind of annoying when he insults other posters. I do not like that. Hopefully he changes his attitude.

BPEF is a very friendly, nice and intelligent poster. He is not a problem at all.

Well, a lot experts/analyst/polls/betting firms put us in that seed. I agree with them. if we go like this, IYO, What is our rank, then?

I'm not in a defensive mode. Why should I do that? All I'm saying is that if we go like this, IMO, we ain't going anywhere. (5-6 AL team). I'm trying to be realistic. On the other hand, I want that we win the ring, you bet. What am I missing?

Oh Boy, you have huge problems with others' opinions. You should realize for once and for all that this is a board. This is about opinions. That is my opinion. If you think the opposite, fine (We have great chances in order to win the ring)

IMO He is logic and coherent. If you want to invite your grandma, bring her, she will be very welcome.

The point is pretty clear. Going like this, I doubt that we win the ring. If we add the SP our chances will be better, but still it is going to be tough.

Well, one thing is "want" and another "can". I want that we win the WS, you bet my friend. On the other hand and trying to be realistic/objective, I see that scenario very unlikely if we go like this.

I don't think so Mike. Everyone around here wants that we win the WS. The thing is that some see more/less possibilities if we go like this, that's all.
