    I really doubt. They do not like to spend in this type of guys. Look what happened with Lester and his contract won't be even close. They love guys like Porcello and Miley.

    They should have waited a dozen of starts or something before giving him that contract. He only has 1 "good" year. One. That extension was very dumb.

    When you see 2013 in the middle of those ugly years, what do you see? Do not take me wrong. I don't want to take away credit to anybody but to me the stars aligned that year. Most of the key players posted their best career numbers that year. Look at Koji, just for mention one. For every failure you will find excuses, conjectures, etc. but the fact is that this team has been run and managed very poorly... that sk, is and has been the main problem in this team. Said that, I always have seen in Porcello an untalented/mediocre(at best) pitcher, and his "youth" is not magically give him the talent that he never has had.

    To suspect? The underachievement across the last 3/4 is on the FO for bringing bad players like Porcello.

    Take away his worst and best years and you will find the answer. Also, I do not buy the "coaching evidence". What evidence are you talking about? I think that those "evidences" are opinions/conjectures at best. Lets face it, we gave 80 M to a 4.5 ERA pitcher who was expected to post an ERA under 4.... Thing that will not happen IMO given his career numbers after/before 2014.

    I'm done with the "good enough" pitching strategy. We need not 1 but 2 solid proven and durable arms, otherwise we are going to be dead last next year again. We also need 3 arms in the BP.

    Porcello and Miley are 4.5 ERA pitchers at best. Buch is DL resident. Owens has two solid starts but that's it, and while I like ERod, you do not build a rotation around him. We need at very least two solid proven arms.

    These are the kind of things that this org should do/prove. Not sure what in the hell is the plan moving forward. At least they should take something of this disaster. The more I see this FO, the more I think we need to rebuild this as soon as possible, and LL is not enough.

    Totally agree. Now the question is, which arms would be the right for us?

    It was a terrible move all around. Basically we ate most of his bad years and when he finally seemed healthy, we traded him. Unbelievable! Not sure if this is the worst trade ever, but it should be considered as one of the worst. You do not give up a No 2-3 for junk.

    I like their pitching lead by Lester but I do not think they have enough offense to make it but you never know. They have been better this year but IMO STL is still 2 steps a head them in the coming future. IMO they will compete for a WC spot in the coming future with NYM, PIT, SFG, and someone else at best. Said that I think Theo learned some lessons after the mess he left here, but saying that he is a genius is a bit precipitate, you still need to see the results which in the end are what really matters.

    Regarding the Poll, the answer is yes, when it is spent wisely. LAD have money and recently hired a genius in Andrew Friedman. They will be contenders every year in the coming future. On the other hand when you have money but it is run by orangutans the results talk by itself. Look at the Phillies and Boston.

    We used to have this kind of format competition in our soccer league. The WC match was called "repechaje" or "repezca" and after that game, the PO games called "la liguilla" or "la fiesta grande" started. These days "el repechaje" is not played anymore since most of the fans did not like it so it was eliminated.

    Let me put it this way. The postseason start with the WC match which btw I do not like it. The POs? with the divisional series.

    Probably ERod won't be an ace or even a No. 2, but if he becomes a solid No. 3, we shall be very happy.

    I think it is better way to see it. Even with a WC spot, you are not in POs, you still need to win that game.
