I didn't have the opportunity to watch the game but seems like Wright had a great day, unfortunately our offense didn't show off today.

Again, no one is saying that he is a 6.0 ERA pitcher, because he is not. He is a 4.4 ERA career pitcher who has increased dramatically his HR/FB% since 2014 and looks like 2013 actually (which worries me), but that's not the point. The point is that his recent performance, (ST and this first start is not encouraging), in order to think that he is going to improve what he did in 2015. Some still think that his 2014 numbers or even more is his potential, I still think that it was a fluke year. Take away his best and worst years and you will figure out what Porcello really is. We'll see though.

ST and this first start, my friend. Hopefully we are dead wrong, though. As you said, he needs to improve his command/location. His FB/HR% worries me.

Well, I've been saying this since 2011, I guess. Finally we have Price, but he can't do all by himself. Yes, we need another one, badly.

He needs to settle down his FB/HR% i.e. Location/command. If he accepts 2 HR per game and with runners on bases, his SO/BB is going to be meaningless.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not saying that this was an atrocious performance (he has allowed 6 or 7 Rs, if I recall well, and not against TOR), but this is not what I expect from my 20 M arm. He sucked bad time last year, to the point that we are seeing this as an acceptable. This is not acceptable by any means. He is supposed to pitch against ALE teams most of the times, and most of those teams have potent Lups. He was signed to post at very least a 3.5-4 ERA numbers. He is way far from that.

If he posts this in a regular basis, what are you going to say? Most of the ALE teams have good line-ups.

Also, Porcello is a 4.4 ERA pitcher, is that a mid-rotation guy? Or more likely end-of-the-rotation?

Ok, let's forget the contract, which is a key issue, but let's forget it for a bit. What is a mid-rotation guy? A guy who is going to allow 4 Rs/6IP per game? i.e. 6 ERA pitcher?

No one is panicking Doji, but saying that this is what we expect from him every day of the week, is not true (at least not for me)... i.e. you are assuming that this offense is going to make at least 5 Rs and the BP is not going to allow more Runs in order to win. You are asking perfection from the other parts of the team. That scenario is unlikely, when this guy takes the mound. He needs to improve. And again, IMO it was cheap, it could have been way worse.

The same happened with Hellickson and he only earned 2 after 5.2, LOL!

I think that some people are getting used to bad pitching. This wasn't a good performance by any means. At this pace he is a 5+ ERA pitcher again. Yeah this is Toronto but BAL and NYY are potent L-ups as well and you can not discard TB's, and you still have a bunch of games vs TOR. Let's not fool ourselves, the offense and the BP, gave us the victory. He needs to improve, a lot. This could have been worse.
