Let's be honest, without an ace, we weren't going anywhere Kim --i.e. We weren't going to win a WS-- An arm like Sale is a must, if you want to win a WS --on paper.

👍 IMO we have a team to compete at great level at least the next three years. All seems good in the horizon boss.

Not sure how can you compare or put in the same sentence DD and Ben. DD's hierarchy as GM is ten light years above. As you said, Ben was just a puppet. LL was the main responsible, for the good and for the bad. LL and DD on the other hand, are at the same level.

Remember, the Sox is on win-mode now. Sometimes you have to pull the trigger when it is the right moment. IMO this is RS's time to win it all. He is just addressing our pain points, and he has done it very well so far on paper. Remember, you have to give something good in order to get something of the same quality. The Sale trade was a bold move. Sale is a legit ace. Sure, without Sale, we still were a good team, but we weren't gong anywhere without him. Now this is a legit WS contender team.

Theorically you have to go with your best weapon. Sale on paper is your best arm.

Not sure what long term contenders means to you, but IMO We don't have to worry for the next five years which is a lot of time in terms of baseball and is all I ask by now. This team still have a good core of young players and still can make great moves going forward. DD is a great and proven GM.

Thanks Spud, how are u doing my man? excited about the sox net year?; I am! finally we have a good rotation. Regarding my baby, we hardly have slept a complete night since he birthed, but things are stabilizing I guess, we sleep 5 hours these days LOL!

If they get EE, the offense IMO will be at very least the same.

Thanks cp, I've been very busy the last couple of months but everything is oks my friend, thanks for ask. What I like of DD is that the guy gets the things done, and he has the power to do it. i.e. He is not a puppet.

According to Forbes, the Red Sox is the 3rd most valuable franchise in baseball. It is worth 2.3 B and made around 400 M in 2015. A 200+ payroll is pretty affordable. If a couple of millions is the gap to win it all, IMO they won't hesitate.

I'd rather a competitive team every year. This scenario is like watching the Diamondbacks every year hoping that the stars align and they win somehow and from nowhere a ring LOL! Your scenario A gives you more chances to win a ring.

The talent is there, he just need a break and stay healthy, hopefully this is the year.

I think that Pomeranz will be your sleeper. IMO he will have a come back season.

EE specially at Fenway would be the beast, you don't want to face if you are a pitcher. Hopefully DD gets it done.

Watching DD at press conference, it seems that they are still open to make a couple of extra moves at FA, and open to make more trades. IMO they will land EE. Moreland IMO, will play a backup role.

The Sox have "invested" in a lot of busts, and the money machine is still producing. No, it shouldn't be a problem.

The thing is that the team is built to win now! Chris Sale was the piece that was missing to win it all. This was a great move. You had to do it. Also, we still have a great core young players who guess what... going to be around in coming years. As I said, get EE and DD can go calm to take some vacations. Dislike the last 2 years, this is legit WS contender team.

Seems like you like our pitching staff. First off, Buchh has to go. Rodriguez is a No.4 at best. I was very high on Pom but I'm not sure anymore. Wright? IDK what to say. As I said, neither Price nor Porcello are No. 1. We need 2 SPs
