    The next 30 will certainly be tough but even if they go 10-20, they're still at .500, and with the new playoff structure, a .500 team is certainly not out of it. I think we're going to start seeing a huge increase in trades at they waiver deadline (Aug 31). The need to push back the trade deadline to 8/15 IMO.

    They have the pieces, it would just go against everything they are building towards. I would be shocked if they traded Webby, RDLR, Bogaerts, Bradley, Vazquez, Cecchini, Barnes, or Ranaudo, and that alone keeps them from Stanton. Now, they could offer a deal of Bogaerts, Bradley, Barnes, and Webster and that would almost certainly net you Stanton, but you've got Stanton and no future.

    I don't think there has ever been a Platinum Sombrero in a 9 inning game. I believe all of them have come in games that went into extras.

    He had one in a blowout loss a couple weeks ago IIRC EDIT: against Toronto on May 12, Sox lost 12-4 at Fenway. That was Naps last blast.

    Oh good, losing by 1 from a wild pitch last inning and Fenway is doing the wave. Awesome. I wish the fans there cared about the game rather than just going for a stupid social event. Pisses me off.
