  1. Huh. I guess Darnell reads our forums. He's probably thinking, "You're welcome." lol.
  2. Marlins trade for Cameron: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/07/marlins-acquire-mike-cameron.html Apparently he DOES fetch more than a bag of balls.
  3. Jon Lester must stop the bleeding. http://swamigp.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/jon-lester-getty2.jpg Fist pump = WIN
  4. Note to self: Don't make John mad in a NL park....
  5. So...about those trades we've been talking about wanting.. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/06/red-sox-cant-add-payroll.html If so...:thumbdown
  6. Don't worry. Bloatolo Colon will come back to earth, Cherry Garcia will melt in the sun, Nova is pedestrian and Burnette is pedestrian on his best day. Regardless of what we do this season, there's no way on God's green earth they'll win the WS this year. I guarantee it.
  7. And remember people, it could be worse. Cliff could have been doing this to us six times a year in pinstripes.....
  8. Well, considering Josh hasn't pitched in almost two weeks and given the past 4 starts for Lee, it just seemed to me before this series that if we were going to lose a game, this would be the one. And the funny part is that even if we lose tonight, I'll still be disappointed, but I won't be totally upset considering the pitcher we're facing.
  9. While I am not defending Lackey's poor play, I think everyone should remember that the man's wife has cancer. Having lost a loved one to this disease several years ago, I can tell you firsthand that it clouds your mind and doesn't go away until it is fully treated. I think the reason Lackey is still pitching is due to a combination of Tito's devotion to vet. players (giving him a chance to figure it out) and Lackey wanting to play to take his mind off of the matter (which to this point has not worked). Unless Lackey turns it around his next few starts, I think it would best for both parties if he were placed on the bereavement list until he is mentally and emotionally stable. If he needs the rest of the year off, so be it. But I would rather have a 100% focused and healthy John Lackey (which still isn't saying much since he's a 3.5-4.0 ERA pitcher, but better than Dice-K nonetheless) than the wreck that was on the mound Wednesday. Either way, I hope he figures this thing out. And show a little compassion people. He is human afterall.
  10. I can't see the game. What did he do?
  11. Josh better have been really f***ing sick to miss this game. Unacceptable.
  12. Even though it would be awesome if we could trade for him now, I say we should wait until the offseason to sign him if the FO has interest. Although he'll be more expensive compared to signing him to an extension after a trade, we wouldn't have to give up any prospects. Also, it would allow us to move Lowrie back to the utility role, let Scutaro leave, and give Iglesias more time in the minors to improve his hitting. Plus, we wouldn't have to worry about the MFYs getting into a bidding war with us since they're already committed to Jeter for two more seasons.
  13. Well, either way, a few days off may not be so bad for CC. He's been in a mini slump the past week, so he can use the time to clear his head in addition to healing up. Also, it'll be good for Darnell to get some ABs. Nothing we can't overcome IMO.
  14. Ells got greedy....
  15. Wow, crazy game. Wasn't able to see it since I live in NY but I was following the score ticker on ESPN and I thought Carl hit a game winning HR! Boneheaded move by Tito to lift Gonzo. Even though he's slow on the basepaths, his value in his bat is far greater than the speed of a PR IMO. Good thing from this game (besides the win) is that the A's BP will be completly shot tomorrow or will be very limited. The only pitchers for us we likely won't see tomorrow are Alf and Paps (maybe Jenks too). At the end of the day, a win is a win! Go Sox!
  16. A potential game-winning run driven in by the unlikeliest of sources who is under so much scrutiny from the fans and media. Funny how life works....
  17. Look's like CC's gonna have to cut out more than just Cap'n Crunch.
  18. Gonzo > Tex:thumbsup:
  19. Yes, because Tito went out there tonight and threw 6 1/3 innings of horse s*** with 5 BBs, 9 hits, and 9 ER.
  20. WIN FOR TIM!!! WIN FOR TIM!!!
  21. http://floppingout.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Buck-Showalter.gif "I want you...TO KICK MY ASS!!!"
  22. Deal is worth roughly $30 million over 4 yrs. Good to hear! Here's a link: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/04/red-sox-agree-to-extend-clay-buchholz.html
