  1. This is a f***ing goddamn travesty. The hitting I can somewhat understand as most teams start slow. But the pitching is a goddamn, duct-taped train wreck. And all of it stems from piss-poor decision making from our front office. Consider: Exhibit A) John Lackey: Our big signing of the 2009-2010 offseason. Nothing but a glorified 3.50-4.00 ERA pitcher. "Oh, but he'll give you innings and he's a workhorse!" Yeah, you know who else is a "workhorse?" Joe Blanton. Enough said. I can think of better ways to utilize $82.5 million than by spending on the "best player" in a desolate 2009-2010 free agent class. Exhibit B Josh Beckett: While no one can forsee the future, handing out a 4 year extension to a guy who sucks every other year is not a sound investment. Throw in the fact that the guy gets rocked by the MFY (who we have to face 18 times a year by the way) and it makes the extension look even worse. Exhibit C): Daisuke Matsuzaka: A prime example of why signing a big market IFA is usually not a good idea. You know what $52 million buys you? A whiny, prima donna who doesn't speak a lick of f***ing english, nibbles around the strike zone, and gives you at best 5 innings. f***ing joke. Exhibit D) Jonathan Papelbon: s*** bum ******* that regresses yearly and Theo has the audacity to offer him arbitration every single f***ing year! The guy is nothing more than a goddamn leach! When his contract runs out, I'll be the happiest motherf***er out there. Bottom line, our pitching sucks ass! Outside of Buchholz (who is still relatively unproven) and Lester (who takes a month or so to find his groove), there is no one on our staff I feel even remotely comfortable sending out to pitch be it the 1st or the 9th inning. Once these god awful contracts run out (or at any time before that), this front office needs to start getting f***ing serious when it comes to pitching. I want to be able to have what Tampa has in their ability to discard pitchers who wear out their welcome and bring in some Joe Nobody who pitches like Cliff f***ing Lee. Whoever is in charge of scouting those pitchers, back up the f***ing brinks truck and hire them (even if it is all the doing of Friedman, offer him so much f***ing money that he'll scoff at Tampa's offer and work as a scout under Theo)! f***!!!
  2. Everybody cross your fingers and hope this guy beats out Oki in Spring training!
  3. Red Sox close to a contract with a Ham Fighter: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/02/red-sox-sign-itsuki-shoda.html
  4. At this point, I'm all for Kalish taking over RF in 2012.
  5. I find it intriguing that a team with a low budget and a desire to play their young prospects have significant interest in a guy who seems set on making $5+ mil/yr, is 35, AND wants 3 yrs.:dunno:
  6. Besides Fuentes, what other decent options do we have in regards to LHP via FA or trade?
  7. Agon Crawford Jenks Miller Highest available 1st rounder in 2011 draft for Vmart Up to 4 more draft picks if/when Lopez and Beltre are signed Best offseason ever for The Nation!!!!
  8. What the f***??:angry:We have arguably the best lineup in all of baseball and this asswipe goes to the f***ing Dodgers? Whatever. Have fun watching your team get shutout 20 times a year and missing the playoffs Matt!! Douche....
  9. Martin to the Yanks http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/12/yankees-reach-agreement-with-russell-martin.html
  10. I could end up being wrong, but my gut's telling me he's gonna stay in Texas. They have so many advantages over NY if they match the contract yrs: 1)No tax 2) Friends with the Rangers staff/players 3)Close to Arkansas home.
  11. Wow. Just woke up and saw the news. This is pretty f***ing cool. I'm not gonna lie though, Werth was my first choice. But after seeing that fiscally irresponsible contract that Rizzo threw at him, getting Crawford isn't too shabby. I love the aggressiveness that the FO is showing. Now its Lee or bust for the MFY.:harhar:
  12. Could be...Maybe Detroit since they have the need to burn a hole in their wallet. Dunno. Either way, this is VERY interesting.
  13. Ok. I've tried to ignore you, but seriously, get the f*** off this board. I'm serious. IF you were a Sox fan, you wouldn't have said this. No one, and I mean NO ONE who is a loyal fan (whether they be a Yankee, Royal, Mariner, Oriole, or fan of whatever) leaves their team. You, my friend, are nothing more than a spinless bandwagoning troll. Hell, the idiots who post 1,000s of comments in ESPN columns have more credibility than you. And stop acting as though you care about this team. If you were a serious enough fan, you would have thought of something more creative than a boston team name combined with next calendar year as your f***ing user name. For christsakes you don't even have a f***ing avatar! Seriously, though, we don't need **********s like you roaming this board whenever something potentially falls apart with the FO. Just go away.
  14. For a split second there, I thought you were that GoBruins idiot. If I didn't notice your user name, I would've posted something not too nice.
  15. I really hope we can lock up A Gon. We've come too far to let this go...

  17. At the rate that catchers are being signed, we may very well have to use that scarecrow I posted a while back.
  18. Fear the beard..... http://larrybrownsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Jayson-Werth-beard.png Jayson Werth to the Sox in 2011.
  19. Lol. The sad part is this may very well be true...
  20. Exactly. You want to know who's cheap? Arizona Cardinals. It was like pulling teeth to get them to f***ing pay Fitzgerald in his contract year in 09! Cheap f***ers...
  21. If we did swing a trade for Suzuki, who would Oakland want? I don't know their exact needs.
  22. Nope. That's Bill Hall's replacement.
