  1. He's like the Richard Simmons of radio broadcasters. The best part about his calls though is how he gives a "it is far! it is deep! it is... caught" call pretty much every game.
  2. Thuuuuuuh Yankees win. Thuuuuuu-uhhhh-uhhhh-uhhhh Yankees win.
  3. The comments from the players were pretty funny. "So did Ortiz see a replay of the third strike? "I don’t have to. Thank God I wasn’t hitting righthanded because that would have hit me in the ribs," he said." -Extra Bases "We'll leave the final word to Dustin Pedroia: "[The umpires] must have had a flight. I'm actually going to check on that," he said. "If they had a flight, we’re going to make sure it was delayed. Because I can do that. I have that kind of pull." -Extra Bases http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/
  4. This is exactly what I'm talking about. Point out the place where I said the trade was failed.
  5. Agree to disagree about what? You've yet to state anything that I've actually said that you disagree with. I don't even know what you're trying to argue.
  6. I'd love to know exactly what drum you think it is that I'm beating that's so ridiculous. What point have I made that you disagree with? Just because you argue points I've never made over and over and over again doesn't make you the objective, reasonable one.
  7. When did I ever say I didn't use the fact that Granderson's out for a month as part of my reasoning for why the Yankees would have been better off with Jackson/Damon than Granderson? In fact, didn't I say the opposite? You're all over the place and have your criticisms of my points are based on stuff I never said. In this case, you're arguing the opposite of what I said. I'll bet you know what happens when you assume you know what someone else means, so I won't bother spelling it out for you.
  8. I never said injuries could be predicted and if we did trade our top prospect in addition to letting Bay go to sign Cameron, I'd be pissed. But we didn't. AND we used the money Bay would have cost to also sign Lackey. Not a very good comparison.
  9. He just scored the go ahead run to beat the Yankees this evening. It must suck to have your former top prospect who you traded for a player who's sucked and is on the DL, be the hitter who beat you.
  10. This. Someone who didn't watch a game really shouldn't try to argue that they know more about what happened in a game than a group of people who actually watched it.
  11. Have you ever looked at a Sally League roster? 2/3rds of the hitters on his team were younger than him.
  12. How can you root against a Bruins/Canadiens series? Not only would that give us the advantage of home ice, but that's like rooting against a Yankees/Red Sox series.
  13. Wouldn't it be fitting if Matt Cooke's team was eliminated tonight and Savard scored a game winning goal?
  14. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/numlocation.php?pitchSel=276514&game=gid_2010_05_12_tormlb_bosmlb_1/&batterX=67&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=3 And pitchfx gives the umpires an extra 3.5 inches on each side of the plate. Ortiz didn't actually see a strike the entire at bat. A pitch that's 1.5 feet from the center of home plate is literally 2 inches into the batter's box.
  15. Well, this one stings because that was literally the worst umpired game I've seen in years. Plus, Hermida, McDonald and Van Every were 1-for-6. And every member of the lineup who wasn't pinch hit for left a guy on base, except for Youkilis. Hopefully the Bruins win tonight. Then I won't care.
  16. BELTRE! This is like coming from 7 runs down with the umpire messing up easy calls every at bat.
  17. Oh my god. This ump's been bad but that pitch was literally a foot outside. There's no way a hitter could reach that.
  18. DREW! Come on Ortiz, one more for old time's sake.
  19. The heart of our order blows hot dog chunks.
  20. Yeah, Porcello has sucked so far this year.
  21. Vazquez made a great start against a good hitting team. He did a good job limiting the damage after back-to-back walks to the 7th and 8th hitters in the fifth inning and then back-to-back leadoff singles in the sixth. The offense just didn't back him up.
  22. The Yankees just lost. Former top Yankees prospect Austin Jackson scored the go ahead run after he was advanced to third by Johnny Damon.
