  1. Is Teixeira horse face? I always thought that was Posada's nickname.
  2. Yeah, defense is so hard to quantify with the naked eye. I can see why you think Cano looks like a good defensive player because he can make some spectacular plays and he has a great arm. To me, the thing that really limits him is his ability to make the routine play, however. UZR really isn't a fair indication of a player's ability in such a small sample size. It's the only legitimate, objective measure of a player's defensive ability that I know of though. I'm sure we'll be revisiting the UZR stats throughout the year.
  3. Alright, I really didn't mean any offense. I really don't know your track record, I just don't like when fans criticize managers after their moves don't work out, that's all.
  4. It was an exciting game up until the end. Have a good night everyone!
  5. I said I gave you the benefit of the doubt. I didn't mean any offense, I'm sorry.
  6. Sweet, the Yankees are starting to play down to their ability.
  7. There's no way to prove whether those comments were made before or after his moves didn't work out. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, it's just one of my pet peeves when fans criticize managers for moves they've made after the fact.
  8. See who you are dealing with? Relax, this is just the internet my friend.
  9. If I'm the Angels, I'd have to put down a sac bunt here (my video's on a delay and Izturis just came up).
  10. Sorry if I don't fit in because I'm not saying that Teixeira made a dirty play and/or had "intent to injure" but I think my assessment that he didn't need to run over the catcher to score, but that it's fair game to run over a catcher attempting to block the plate is pretty fair and accurate. It's not like he went outside the baseline to hit the catcher. The collision happened over home plate.
  11. Alright, if you're going to deny the fact that the catcher was attempting to block the plate and was hanging over the plate, there's no use in debating. The video CLEARLY indicates otherwise.
  12. Charging a pitcher isnt' the same as running over a catcher who's attempting to block the plate. Not even close. One is well within the rules and is how you're supposed to play the game, the other is not. I'm a Red Sox fan, but I don't see why it should matter.
  13. If Youkilis made the same play, he'd get a "Youuuuuuk" chant and we'd be calling him a hard nosed player.
